Dr. Tobia completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the College of William & Mary. After college, she took on several positions at a humane society in Pulaski, VA, including Executive Director. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She also completed a small animal rotating internship at Dogwood Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center in Richmond, VA. Her professional interests include preventative care, behavior and dermatology. Dr. Tobia grew up in Northern Virginia and is happy to be living close to her family again. In her free time, she enjoys visiting friends, attending concerts and plays, reading, and spending time with her Boxer mix, Nicci.
Dr. Medici's mom was Hawaiian and her father a career Army Officer. With Hawaiian and Italian influence, family and honor are key components in Dr. Medici's life.
After many years of being stationed around the world, her family settled in Nokesville in 1983. Dr. Medici finished high school at Brentsville and left Virginia for Kansas State University where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1994. After graduation she returned home to Nokesville. She has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in Northern Virginia since 1994.Dr. Medici decided to establish her own practice where she would have the opportunity to design a facility equipped with the most modern technology available for diagnosis and treatment while providing a comforting and family-like atmosphere for her clients and patients.
Dr. Medici will also havethe ability to focus on areas that are of special interest to her to include quality of life issues, geriatric care, and pain management. Dr. Medici has grown up with a variety of pets everything from hamsters to horses. She has learned to appreciate the specific individual needs of each animal.
Dr. Kimberly Bridges is a native of south-east Virginia. She completed her undergraduate degrees in Animal Science and Biology at Virginia Tech University, Go Hokies! Her doctorate of veterinary medicine was completed at Western University of Health Sciences in California. To further her education, she completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey and an emergency medicine and critical care residency at the New England Animal Medical Center in Massachusetts.
In her early career. Dr. Bridges managed an intensive care unit at a specialty referral hospital and co-directed their internship program. In 2020, she decided to join the Ohana family where she strives to practice astute medicine while establishing life-long relationships with her clients and patients. She looks forward to bringing a unique skill set to the hospital while continuing to grow in her career path as an accomplished general practitioner.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bridges enjoys spending her free time with her husband (also a veterinarian), dogs Nala and Dudley, and cats Iris and Flora (all rescues, of course). She never misses an opportunity for a long hike, fishing trip on the Chesapeake Bay, or just reading a good book while relaxing in the Outer Banks!
