Graham Nelson

Graham is an experienced clinician, graduating from La Trobe University in 1993. He has established a strong medical background, working in such hospitals as Ballarat Base, The Alfred and Austin and Repatriation Medical Center. He has also worked in England, where he had the opportunity to further develop his manual and orthopaedic skills, and has worked full time in private practice since returning to Melbourne in 1996. He has completed a Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy (LaTrobe University) through which he developed specialist skills in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He updates his knowledge and skills frequently through professional development courses, seminars and inservices. Graham's approach is methodical and hands-on, emphasizing quality of service and holistic patient management. He is focused on achieving fast and sustainable results for his clients, and educating them on maintaining optimal musculoskeletal health. Graham is also a Ridgway Method Certified Practitioner(RMCP) which means that he has gained specialised knowledge and skills in the assessment and treatment of the whole musculoskeletal system to gain best outcomes for his clients. Graham's area of clinical interest are cervicogenic headache, neural conditions and tennis elbow. The latter is the subject of his Masters thesis which was completed in 2001. Graham is a father of two and a keen runner, completing 6 marathons to date and "countless" 10km races and half marathons. His interest in running has expanded his knowledge in the area of running biomechanics, running injuries and strength and conditioning for runners. Matthew Teh

Matthew recently graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), and is keen to begin his new career as a physiotherapist after recently moving to Melbourne. He is excited to join the NWPG team and use their unique approach to treating patients in physiotherapy, and enjoys working with a wide range of clients and conditions within a structured and supportive grad program that ensures his development as a physiotherapist who can provide high quality care. Through placements, Matthew has experience delivering physiotherapy services in hospital settings, aged care, as well as in private practice to paediatric and adult populations. He immediately felt drawn to musculoskeletal physiotherapy as he enjoys the problem solving challenge of identifying and working through key issues with clients and using a collaborative approach to improve their movement and quality of life. As an avid martial arts practitioner, he has a keen interest in sports-related injuries, return to sport and strength and conditioning.

Russell Visser

Russell graduated as a physiotherapist from Melbourne's Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences in 1982. He initially worked for 2 years in general orthopaedic and rehabilitation physiotherapy in a hospital setting. He then worked in private practice, Community Health at Sunbury and occupational health at Metropolitan Rehabilitation Services. In 1990, he set up private practice at the Essendon & Moonee Ponds Physiotherapy Clinic. He was a physiotherapist for the Footscray Football Club commencing in the 1988 preseason and was senior physiotherapist during the 1991 to 1996 seasons. During that period he gained extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries. The players were treated from the acute phase to full fitness. He worked closely with the medical staff, fitness advisors and coaches to formulate effective treatment and preventative programs. Russell has improved his clinical skills and knowledge base with continuing education courses. He is also a Ridgway Method Certified Practitioner, which means he has developed specialist skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of the whole musculoskeletal system to gain best outcomes for his clients. His special interests are the treatment of Lumbar/Pelvic dysfunction, Strength and Conditioning, and TMJ (jaw) dysfunction. Sheena Yu

Sheena is a very passionate massage therapist with over 8 years of experience. She has obtained a Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy at the Australian College of Sport & Fitness, and a Diploma in intensive Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She is also a registered provider for all the major health funds. Sheena has worked across a number of health and beauty settings and has developed her base of remedial massage treatments to also include Shiatsu and Thai massage techniques as appropriate. Trigger point therapy and myofascial release are her strengths, as is combining multiple techniques in order to achieve great results for her clients, based on their individual needs and preferences. She has always built rapport by listening closely to a client's needs and communicating in an open and supportive manner.
