ALICIA S. PEREZ

Alicia received her J.D. from Florida A&M College of Law in 2011 where she participated and was on the board for Moot Court and Trial team. Alicia graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Journalism and Communications with a minor in French. She is an avid Gator fan and attends football games whenever she can. Prior to joining Law Offices of John Di Masi,P.A., Alicia was an assistant state attorney for the 9th Judicial Circuit for Orange and Osceola County for nearly six years and in 2017 made the switch into civil litigation in the area of First Party Property, breach of contract cases, defending homeowners against decisions on claims by the insurance companies. Alicia has done over three hundred jury trials in her career and zealously defends her clients. Alicia speaks fluent Spanish which has helped her bridge the gap in negotiations and communications with clients.

Eryn M. McConnell

Eryn M. McConnell is a Board Certified Specialist in Condominium and Planned Development Law. For over sixteen years she has specialized in community association practice, and has represented and served as general corporate counsel for condominiums, homeowner associations, mobile home communities, cooperatives, and mixed-use developments in all areas of corporate operation and governance, collections and bankruptcy, covenant enforcement, and litigation. Prior to joining Di Masi || Burton P.A., she was an attorney with Wean & Malchow, P.A., and Mateer Harbert, P.A. Eryn is originally from Nebraska, where she graduated as a Regents Scholar and member of the Innocents Society Chancellor's Senior Honorary at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, as well as earning her Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Nebraska College of Law. She is active in the Central Florida community, serving on the School Advisory Council, and volunteer, featured speaker, and family ambassador for Give Kids The World.

Helena G. Malchow

Malchow graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law in May, 1992. While at Florida State University, she was an Articles and Notes Editor for the Florida State University Law Review. She also received a book award for State Constitutional Law and Admiralty while at FSU. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and International Business from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Ms. Malchow began her legal career as a law clerk with the firm of Moore, Williams, Bryant & Gautier, P.A. where she was exposed to a number of legal areas, including creditor's rights, civil litigation, securities, and municipal law. After being admitted to practice in Florida in 1992, she moved to Orlando, Florida with her husband, Kevin Malchow. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Middle District Court of Florida. Ms. Malchow has been approved by the Ninth Judicial Circuit as eligible to serve as a civil case arbitrator and approved by the Florida Supreme Court as a circuit court mediator. In March of 1994, Ms. Malchow joined the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff, P.A. as an associate practicing in the field of community associations. At Becker & Poliakoff, Ms. Malchow assisted in representing close to two hundred condominium, homeowner and time share associations. This opportunity enabled her to gain strong legal experience in representing community associations in both transactional and litigation matters. In September, 1995 she joined Paul Wean in the opening of Paul L. Wean, P.A., where she has limited her practice to counseling all types of community associations. Ms. Malchow has contributed several pieces to publications directed to community associations and has lectured on many topics. She is former Secretary of the Mid-Florida Chapter of the Community Association Institute. Helena was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She speaks fluent Spanish.

James E. Olsen

James "Jim" Olsen has been practicing law in Orlando since 1986. An Orlando native, Mr. Olsen is a former partner in the law firm of Olsen & Olsen (1987-1994). Immediately prior to joining the law firm of Wean & Malchow, Mr. Olsen was the senior associate at the law firm of Clayton & McCulloh (1996-2000). Mr. Olsen has been with Wean & Malchow since June of 2000. Mr. Olsen has been married to his wife, Kathy, since May of 1986. Mr. Olsen has three daughters, Emma (1992), Olivia (1994) and Grace (2001). Mr. Olsen owns one dog. Mr. Olsen is co-owned by three cats. Educated at the University of Central Florida (Bachelor of Arts in Economics, 1984) and the University of Florida Holland Law Center (Juris Doctor, 1986), Mr. Olsen has extensive experience in a number of areas of legal practice, primarily including civil litigation, appellate practice, bankruptcy (debtor and creditor), foreclosure (debtor and creditor), landlord and tenant, family law, and representation of homeowner associations and condominium associations. Currently, he is concentrating his efforts in all areas of association law, including civil litigation, turnover and construction defect issues, contract disputes, and covenant violations. Mr. Olsen is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Additionally, in 1990 Mr. Olsen was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Olsen has spoken at many legal seminars in the areas of association law, landlord and tenant, and bankruptcy. He also served for several years as an adjunct professor at Valencia Community College where he taught business law. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Homeowners' Association (1997). He is also a member of the Mid-Florida Chapter of Community Associations Institute and the Space Coast Condominium Association. In September 2009 Mr. Olsen earned his private pilot's license. In addition to flying for business and pleasure, Mr. Olsen volunteers with Pilots & Paws to fly dogs from shelters and rescues to their new families or their new foster homes. A recent flight delivered two adult boxers from Orlando to Ft. Myers. Mr. Olsen hopes that many similar flights will occur in the future.

PATRICK J. BURTON

Patrick received his J.D. from Barry University School of Law in 2012 where he graduated third in his class. Patrick was a member of the Barry Law Review and served as a Note and Comment Editor during his 3L year. In addition, he wrote an article on Florida's UCC filing system that was published in the Barry Law Review. While a student at Barry University, Patrick interned at the Supreme Court of Florida. Patrick has dedicated the vast majority of his practice to community association representation. Patrick has been with the Law Office of John L. Di Masi, P.A. since 2012.

Toby Snively

Toby's practice focuses on litigation, dispute resolution and providing legal advice on a wide variety issues that arise during a community association's operations. Prior to joining Law Offices of John L. Di Masi, P.A., Toby practiced in the areas of litigation, real estate and creditors rights, and he lead the Florida First Legal Department at a national law firm. Toby is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the United States Middle District of Florida, and he has further experience in the Florida District Courts of Appeal and the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings. Toby received his J.D. from Barry University School of Law in 2005 where he served on the Moot Court Board and as an Academic Success Instructor. During law school, he received Florida Supreme Court certification as a County Court Mediator, Book Awards recognizing his grades, and he worked as a Law Clerk. In addition, Toby graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Journalism and Communications . Toby has been recognized by his peers as a Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Star" top rated Real Estate Attorney and is frequently featured as a speaker at board certification courses and community association law seminars. Toby volunteers at Habitat for Humanity (500+ hours) and on the Architectural Review Committee for his Community Association. He has also volunteered at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Orange County Bar Association and on the Board of Directors for his Community Association.
