Our goal is to define standard data fields that make the most sense when opening up geospacial data. This is called a data standard. These fields can be output in any number of data formats, including CSV, RSS, XML, KML, JSON, MySQL queries, etc. We do not wish to create a new data format, merely a simple ontology of the best filed for cities to format their data...
We are specifically targeting data at the city and municipal agency levels. Of interest is address-level data that is in digital format, but resides in private databases and is not accessible by citizens at a moment's notice...
Suggesting why and how governments should open up geocspacial public records in a digital format for all citizens.
