Andrea Donaldson

Andrea Donaldson's practice is focused on advocating for individuals and families who have suffered severe injuries as a result of medical negligence. Andrea has worked with Pacific Medical Law since 2015, first as an articling student and then as a lawyer following her call to the bar in 2016. Born and raised in British Columbia, Andrea obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010 and her Juris Doctor in 2014, both from the University of British Columbia. Andrea is a member of the Law Society of BC and serves on the Board of Governors of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. She regularly attends and has spoken at medical-legal conferences in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in medicine, litigation strategies, and standards of care in the medical field, and has written articles on issues arising in medical malpractice and civil litigation. Outside of her professional work, Andrea enjoys keeping active through Crossfit and outdoor sports, and volunteers with Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports, teaching adults and children with disabilities how to ski.

Corina Stockli

Corina is the first person clients meet when they come to our office. Her positive attitude and willingness to assist in any way she can helps clients deal with the challenges of litigation. Corina keeps everybody on track by managing the office calendar, organizing records and providing litigation and administrative support to the lawyers in the firm. Corina graduated from Douglas College in 2000 with a Legal Secretarial Certificate. She worked for labour and employment lawyers until 2004 when she joined a medical malpractice law firm. Corina enjoys dealing with clients and their families as their cases are investigated and prepared for trial or appeal.

Kristi Samson

Kristi joined Pacific Medical Law in 2020 and provides a supportive role in file management, which includes administrative support, document review and production, preparing list of documents and communicating with clients and related parties. Kristi graduated from Douglas College in 2009 with a Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate and later graduated from Vancouver Community College in 2011 with a Paralegal Certificate. She has worked in personal injury litigation since 2011 and exclusively in the area of medical malpractice since 2017.

Lindsay McGivern

Lindsay McGivern represents plaintiffs in medical negligence and birth injury litigation. She is a lawyer at Pacific Medical Law, a unique firm that practices solely in the field of medical malpractice. Since joining Pacific Medical Law, the primary focus of Lindsay's practice has been representing infants who were injured at birth or within the first month of life. Lindsay articled at a civil litigation defense firm before moving to Pacific Medical Law. Working on both sides of civil litigation has allowed her to have a broader perspective and given her a better understanding of the different approaches taken by plaintiff's and defense counsel. Lindsay received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and her Juris Doctor degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. In law school at Dalhousie, Lindsay won the Wanda Szubielski Prize in Law and the Robert T Donald Insurance Prize. In addition to her studies she volunteered for the Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative and the Phoenix Youth Shelters. She also took an independent course in International Humanitarian Law at the University of Ottawa. She regularly attends legal education courses, study groups and medical-legal conferences to advance her knowledge regarding medical advancements, standards of care and legal strategies in order to best represent her clients. This has included attendance at the annual Western Canadian Medical Malpractice Conference and the annual Conference on Obstetrics, Gynecology, Perinatal Medicine, Neonatology, and the Law. Lindsay was born and raised in British Columbia. Outside of her professional life, she is a sports enthusiast. Lindsay has coached field hockey and played a vast array of sports. Currently, she is a rower, hiker and field hockey player.

Paul T. McGivern

Well known in the medical legal community, Paul McGivern, K.C. is a senior litigator who acts exclusively in plaintiff's medical negligence and infant injury litigation cases. For the past 35 years, his practice has been focused on complex catastrophic cases, especially infant birth trauma cases. Paul is one of the founding members of the Birth Injury Lawyers Alliance of Canada. He has been a member of the Western Canadian Medical Malpractice Association since its inception. Paul brings to his practice a unique background of 17 years as a medical malpractice defence counsel which provides him with unique insights into defence strategies and approaches. He has been involved in hundreds of medical malpractice claims involving a myriad of complex medical and legal issues. He has litigated numerous high-profile precedent setting cases. In his career he has appeared as a lead counsel before every court level in British Columbia and also in the Supreme Court of Canada. With a reputation for understanding the technically intricate medical and legal issues of complex malpractice actions, Paul is consistently recommended in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leader in the area of medical malpractice litigation. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2007 inaugural edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada publication, and he has been included in each annual issue since then. In 2016 and 2019 Paul was named Vancouver's "Lawyer of the Year for Medical Negligence". In 2020 he was named Vancouver's "Lawyer of the Year for Personal Injury". In addition to his work as an advocate for clients of Pacific Medical Law, Paul is frequently invited as a speaker at numerous continuing medical/legal education programs and has been involved in the organizing and chairing of continuing medical and legal education programs focusing on medical legal issues. Paul also served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of British Columbia, where he taught civil procedure for 18 years. A former director of the Medical Legal Society of B.C., he is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C., as well as belonging to the Plaintiff's Medical Negligence Litigation Group. He is also a member of the American Association of Justice and their Birth Trauma Litigation Group. In addition to his other professional involvements, Paul is active in the community, serving as a director of the Advisory Committee of the Cerebral Palsy Association of B.C. Paul is married and has 3 daughters. In his "off hours", he coached his daughters' teams in both soccer and basketball, from grade 8 through high school.

Susanne K. Raab

Susanne Raab is a lawyer at Pacific Medical Law, and an advocate for people living with disabilities. She has been selected for inclusion by her peers in Best Lawyers in Canada in the area of Medical Negligence and is recognized as a leading practitioner in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory in medical malpractice. Susanne is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an honorary trial lawyer society whose membership is limited to less than one-half of one percent of North American lawyers, judges and scholars. Susanne's practice focuses on representing individuals and families who have suffered injuries as a result of medical malpractice, with a focus on birth injuries and catastrophic brain and spinal cord injuries. Prior to joining Pacific Medical Law, Susanne spent much of her legal career representing physicians in complex medical malpractice actions. Susanne has appeared before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia, the BC Court of Appeal, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. Susanne also serves on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association for the BC Health Law Subsection. Susanne is also an adjunct professor at the UBC Allard School of Law where she teaches the medical negligence course to 2 nd and 3 rd year law students. Susanne is actively involved in advocating for individuals living with disabilities, and is past President of the Board of Directors of the Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia, as well as founder of the Advisory Committee of the Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia.
