Jimmy received his salesman license in 1986 but did not pursue his Real Estate career full time until 2004. Jimmy was manager of Seven Lakes Hardware & Building Supply along with Pinehurst Hardware for 21 years. At the same time he served a period as president of the Seven Lakes Business Guild, Board of Directors of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, Seven Lakes Civic Group, Pinebluff Town Commissioner and Solid Waste Committee for Moore County. He obtained his Brokers license in 2006 and now works full time with the family business. His many years in the building supply business have brought him a vast knowledge of the Real Estate industry and market. Jimmy also works part time with Crumpler Funeral Home.
Pinebluff Realty Company was established in 1966 when Tom Darst, a resident of Pinehurst and Mildred Carpenter, a Pinebluff business owner saw a need for a local Real Estate firm to be located in the town of Pinebluff. Tom, whom was already a Real Estate salesman drafted Mildred after she and her husband Virgil closed their Red & White grocery store that they had for several years on the corner of Baltimore Ave. & US#1N. Mildred whom at the time was managing the newly opened Lob Steer Inn obtained her salesman license and partnered with Tom to create what is now Pinebluff Realty Company. At the time there were only about 7 brokers in Moore County, today there are 400+. Pinebluff Realty sold and built many of the homes that exist in Pinebluff today. They also built and sold homes in the surrounding areas including Southern Pines and Aberdeen. Pinebluff Realty has also managed many properties for local owners for over 40 years. Many of the property owners are now descendants of the original owners and plan to keep their stake in this small but quaint village. Tom passed away in 1981 leaving Mildred as the sole proprietor for the firm. Today Mildred's sons Peter & Jimmy along with her daughter Rachel are all brokers in the family business. The firm still manages over 50 properties in the county along with Pinebluff Mini Storage. Pinebluff Realty sales many new and existing homes in the area and have the unchallenged knowledge of the Pinebluff area being they have lived in the town most of their lives. The firm also works closely with 2 of the most respected builders in the county, Sykes Construction and Andy White Builders whom also live in the town of Pinebluff and are family businesses.
Mildred began her career in Real Estate in 1966 when she closed the family's Red & White Grocery Store and partnered with Tom Darst to create what was then and now Pinebluff Realty Inc. Mildred & Tom ventured into the sales and new construction of homes in the Pinebluff area for many years. In 1981 Tom passed away leaving Mildred as the sole proprietor. Mildred has sold many homes in the area 4 & 5 times over her career. Mildred also managed many properties in the area for others. Today Pinebluff Realty is still a family business with her sons Peter & Jimmy are both brokers in the business. Mildred's oldest daughter Rachel is also a broker but only does the Real Estate part time as she is business manager for Southern Pines Women's Health Center. Mildred loves the Real Estate business and at the age of 75 has no plans of retirement.
Peter began his career in Real Estate in 1990 when he left Food Lion Inc. to become general maintenance man for Pinebluff Realty. He dabbled in everything from yard maintenance to painting, plumbing and carpentry while also teaching part time at Sandhills Community College in the Electronics Department from February 1992 until December 1999. Peter left Sandhills and then started working full time on getting his Real Estate Broker License which he obtained in September of 2001. In 2007, Peter became Broker in Charge and also the Designated Realtor for his family's firm. Peter is also a Club/Mobile DJ that plays Weddings and Private Parties.
