Perla is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working in the field of eating disorders since 2001. Perla has directed treatment at all levels of care and in addition to seeing people in her private practice serves as an Eating Disorders Clinical Advisor for a mental health organization with a nationwide presence. Perla is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor (CEDS-S) and offers consultations towards certification. In addition to her work with eating disorders, Perla is a trained EMDR clinician and utilizes that approach in her work with people healing from trauma. In addition to EMDR, Perla uses evidence-based practices in her work including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Practices.
