PAUL MAURER - Key Persons
Ben has been involved with Paul Maurer from a very young age. Laying a brick patio earned Ben enough money to buy his first tee-ball bat, which he still has to this day. Ben studied Philosophy and English in college and finally transitioned to a Business degree for its applicable purposes. After college, Ben worked in the field at PMGC on framing crews, trim crews and flooring crews. After years in the field, he has transitioned into the managerial role which he holds today.
Ben Zeits has been a part of the PMGC team since 2004 when he was hired on to work in our Home Services Division. Since then he has honed his lifelong carpentry skills which have been passed down through his family. He has worked his way up the ladder from lead carpenter, to foreman, and now works in the office as a project supervisor. Ben takes pride in working with clients from the very beginning stages to help make their vision a reality. He is timely and efficient, making sure all of his projects run smoothly while keeping his clients abreast of any changes to the project and schedule. Ben believes building a new home should be a rewarding and gratifying experience for everyone involved, especially the homeowners. Ben is big on family; whenever he is not working, he is with his wife and three boys. They love being outside and enjoy all the local activities such as ice fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, horseback riding, and so much more.
Brian is a lifelong Leelanau County native. He graduated from Albion College in 2003 with a degree in Communications. Brian started working for his Dad when he was 14 and was promoted to management in 2005.
Chris joined the PMGC team in 2022. Chris is a Northern Michigan native with years of experience in estimating residential and commercial projects. In his spare time, Chris enjoys cooking, biking, and being with his wife Megan and their two dogs, Wally and Oliver. Chris has been a wonderful addition to the PMGC team, helping to streamline the estimating process.
Dave found his passion for construction in high school when he started working with a building trades program. He has been involved in the industry ever since and also became a Licensed Michigan Builder in 1996. Dave joined Paul Maurer a few years after he became licensed and has been with PMGC ever since, working both in the field and in the office. He loves overseeing each project from the design phase to final occupancy and enjoys working closely with homeowners to coordinate job schedules to help ensure that the entire process runs smoothly and timely.
John received his Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. He is a NAHB Certified Graduate Builder and a licensed and certified LEED AP Architect Professional in the states of Michigan and Florida. John has previously operated his own design build company, architectural consulting firm and worked as a Senior Associate for a mid-sized architectural firm. John works with the Paul Maurer Team providing project support, as a client developer and project estimator. John is President of the Northern Michigan Chapter American Institute of Architects and also a State Director of AIA: State of Michigan.
Lauren was born and raised in Michigan, and received her BBA at Siena Heights University. After getting married, Lauren and her husband, along with their dog Moose, decided to take up permanent residence ‘up north', instead of driving up every weekend. Lauren's background includes industrial, agricultural, and commercial construction management, as well as work in the technology and manufacturing sectors. In her free time, Lauren is at the beach searching for Petoskey stones, snorkeling, camping, or two-tracking in their Jeep.

Lee came to PMGC with years of experience in window/door sales, installations, and roofing/siding construction expertise. He started working in the field over 30 years ago and came to the PMGC team with a wealth of knowledge of exterior house work. Lee has been certified with Pella as well as many other exterior installation applications in the Midwest. In his free time he enjoys rock hunting with his wife on the shores of the Great Lakes along with anything outdoors; hunting, fishing, Jeeping, and 4-wheeling are huge passions for Lee.
Pete is a Leelanau County native, born and raised. He has worked for PMGC three times since the late 90's and starting out with PMGC is where Pete found is true passion for carpentry. He started as a laborer and worked his way up the carpentry ladder to where he is now, a Job Supervisor. Pete has worked for small businesses as well as carpentry unions so he knows the intricate ins and outs of construction management. Pete brings his field knowledge to the table when he works with his clients to help them understand the process of building not just a house but their future home that could last generations. He has a loving wife, two wonderful children, one English Bulldog, two cats (but he prefers their dog), and he drives a lime green tiny smart car! Outside of the office you will find Pete on the water at all times of the year as he loves ice fishing, hunting, camping, and 4-wheeling.
