Anish Patel - CEO

As a graduate of Baylor University School of Law, Anish concentrated his studies in the areas of Business Transactions and Estate Planning. Coming from a family of hotel owners, Anish realized that compared to other law students it was easier for him to understand the perspective of a business owner in a legal matter. As a result, Anish primarily focuses his practice area on Business and Real estate transactions. Anish also focuses on estate planning and asset protection. He realized that there was a lack of understanding by his business client for the need for proper estate planning. A proper estate plan is a powerful tool that can be used to protect his clients and their family from creditors, spouses and sometimes themselves. During Anish's time at Villanova, he interned with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel (the legal branch of the IRS) where he acquired substantial experience in the operations of the IRS. Chris Barsness

Chris has been working in corporate, securities, and business matters since 2002. Chris has worked on a range of securities matters for both private and public companies, including hundreds of debt, equity, and hybrid Reg. D private offerings, including over 100 single asset offerings, and the creation of over 20 blind pool funds. Chris also served as an adjunct professor of securities law at the University of California - Irvine School of Law. He has worked with numerous start-ups, emerging growth, and mid-sized companies on contracts, capital raises, securities offerings, public reporting, and various securities and business issues. This includes working both buy-side and sell-side on M&A transactions as the lead in deals from $200,000 to $162 million and taking companies public as both general counsel and chief financial officer. He has worked with individuals and businesses on other issues such as Chapter 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy matters, real estate issues, employment matters, and litigation. Jacqueline Trevino

Jacqueline is an Associate Attorney on PLG's Immigration team. Her journey in immigration law is fueled by a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those navigating the complexities of the U.S. immigration system. Jacqueline's practice is focused on EB-5 investor visas and documenting the lawful source and path of investment funds, which is an integral part of the EB-5 application process. She also handles family and employment-based immigration cases and has experience with PERM, I-140, H-1B, R-1, I-485, and drafting detailed responses to Requests for Evidence. Jacqueline earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. During her third year of law school, Jacqueline interned with PLG's Immigration team. While in law school, Jacqueline was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and the Latin American Law Student Association and volunteered to mentor first-year law students. Before attending law school, Jacqueline studied at the University of North Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science. Outside of the office, Jacqueline enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and attending sporting events. Kaitlyn Santiago

Kaitlyn began her journey at PLG in the summer of 2019 with the intention of contributing to the office at the highest level and hopes of gaining valuable exposure from both a legal and title perspective. Having recently joined our transactions department in 2022, Kaitlyn works alongside our managing partner, Anish Patel, as his paralegal and assistant. Since beginning her career with our transaction's team, Kaitlyn has gained valuable experience in various areas including hospitality purchases and sales, estate planning, company formations, and residential document preparation. Kaitlyn previously worked with our litigation department for two years assisting attorneys in various areas including: evictions, landlord-tenant rights, foreclosures, construction litigation, demand letters, business divorces and personal injury. Prior to joining PLG, Kaitlyn was recruited as a college athlete for Texas A&M University-Commerce to play women's golf for the University. Kaitlyn graduated cum laude in May of 2019 with a bachelor's degree in political science and government. Throughout college, Kaitlyn served in several leadership roles within several on-campus organizations that helped her to gain experience in effective communication, creative problem solving, organizational skills, event planning, and writing. Kaitlyn is now married to her high school and college sweetheart, Christian. In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with her two dogs, her loved ones, playing golf, baking, shopping, binge-watching her favorite shows, and exploring fun places across Dallas.

Kamden Crawford

Kamden is an Associate Attorney on PLG's Corporate and Securities team. Kamden represents small to middle market companies primarily in the DFW metroplex. Her work consists primarily of securities offerings, corporate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Kamden enjoys assisting her clients navigate their Regulation D private placements, fund formation, capital raises, business structuring, and M&A transactions. Kamden regularly prepares organizational documents, private placement memorandums, and related offering documents for funds and syndications compliant with Rules 506(b) and 506(c) of Regulation D to the Securities Act. She also regularly works with asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, due diligence, and other ancillary documents for both buy and sell side representation in M&A transactions. In addition, Kamden has experience drafting a variety of contracts including confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, employment agreements, promissory notes, and employee incentive plans. Prior to joining the firm, Kamden earned her Juris Doctorate degree from SMU Dedman School of Law where she graduated with honors. Karla Olmos

Karla is the Legal Administrative Assistant for the Immigration team at PLG. Karla is a recent graduate of Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama. She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a focus on Legal Studies. Karla, as a DACA recipient herself, understands the importance of handling immigration matters timely and properly. Karla has previous experience in Criminal and Civil Law as a Legal Secretary and is constantly expanding her knowledge in all aspects of Immigration Law.

Kevin Vance is Senior Counsel at Patel Law Group. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, attended Baylor University for his undergraduate degree and received his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. He worked as corporate claims counsel for a national title underwriter before joining a boutique litigation firm representing both national and regional automotive dealer groups. Thereafter, turning back to real estate, he worked in the origination and servicing of construction loans assisting victims of hurricanes, tornados, floods, wildfires, and other natural disasters. Kevin became general counsel to an angel-funded start-up buying, curing, and flipping scratch-and-dent and default loans acquired from institutional lenders and, prior to coming to Patel Law Group, moved back in-house to a captured counsel position with a specialty national mortgage lender with $1.1bn in annual revenue. Lizzie Beil

Lizzie grew up in Richardson, Texas, and graduated from Texas Woman's University with a degree in Psychology in 2012. She attended El Centro's Paralegal Studies Program in 2017 before becoming a NALA Certified Paralegal in 2018. She spent three years doing Landlord/Tenant Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Commercial Leasing, Corporate and other types of law before switching to Transactional Commercial Real Estate in November, 2021. Upon joining Patel Law Group in 2022, she's been an integral part of the Securities Team working on real-estate syndications, hedge funds, M&As, and more. Lizzie is a single mom of a six-year old boy who keeps her busy. They enjoy taking nature walks, sword-fighting with sticks, and playing piano in their free time.

Rakesh Patel - CEO

Rakesh is a founding partner and serves as a Managing Partner to the Patel Law Group. Rakesh's primary practice area is business immigration, with a focus on foreign EB-5 investment in the United States. Rakesh has helped immigrants and investors throughout the world in obtaining their visas and green cards to the US through the EB-5 process. He has been recognized as one of the Top 5 Rising Stars for EB-5 Attorneys in the US by EB-5 Investors Magazine. Rakesh takes every step of the legal process very seriously for his clients. His extensive background in business along with his educational background of receiving a Master's in Business Administration is put to use every day when he visits with his clients. He not only understands their legal needs but understands how that legal decision may impact the business. Rakesh's immigration practice also focuses on both employment-based immigration and family-based immigration. From the employment side, Rakesh represents several companies across the US in their business and immigration needs. He works as general counsel for these companies and processes all their immigration needs including H-1B applications, PERM process for Green Cards, L1 applications, in house audits, investor visas, and many other immigration needs. Scott "Mac" MacPherson

Scott is an attorney at PLG, representing clients in finance, commercial real estate, and various other types of business transactions. Scott began his legal career as In-House Counsel for a large real estate startup in his hometown of Buffalo, New York, following his graduation from Syracuse University College of Law. After honing his skills representing the company and its affiliates in housing, landlord/tenant, and related civil litigation matters, Scott was ready to take on new challenges and moved to New York City. There he represented buyers, sellers, and lenders in a wide variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions working with a multitude of communities and cultures. In addition, Scott helped his clients form companies and corporations for new ventures and business acquisitions. A small portion of his practice involved divorce and family law cases. Scott still maintains his license to practice in New York as the need arises. As the pandemic hit New York City, Scott moved to Dallas and transitioned into asset management for national, hard money lenders where he obtained a vast knowledge of federally backed mortgage loans, their terms, post-closing loan issues and managed over $2B in his national portfolio. This work provided him with comprehensive knowledge of property valuation, performance, and condition; as well as lender expectations and procedures for underperforming loans. In his spare time, Scott volunteers in immigration cases defending asylum seekers against removal from the United States; and enjoys hiking and traveling with his golden doodle, Ami. Shameer Soni - CEO

Shameer's practice focuses on real estate and business matters. Shameer's business practice includes the purchase and sale of businesses, raising outside capital (including emerging companies and real estate syndicators), and outside general counsel services. Shameer's real estate practice includes the purchase, sale, finance, and leasing of improved and unimproved real property. He regularly advises multifamily, hospitality, retail, industrial, office, and residential developers and investors on their transactions.
