Carlton Lee Thompson, 69, of West Paterson New Jersey went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2014 at Hackensack University medical center. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on March 16,1944 to the late Charles and Otis Mae Thompson. Carlton graduated in 1962 from North Western Jr Sr High He went into the US army and after military service he received a bachelors in psychology and a Masters in urban education from William Paterson college. Carlton was educational director of Paterson Day Care 100 in 1977 and executive director in 1979 until his retirement. He was passionate about making a difference in the lives of the children of the early childhood development community and their parents. Carlton was a member of Grace Bible Class, Passaic, NJ. Carlton is survived by his wife Suzanne Thompson whom He married on Aug 24,1980. Seven brothers and sisters: Eleanor Potter; Gwen Flanders; Charles Thompson; Otis M. Thompson; Sonya Tompkins; Victoria Hill; Brenda Williams He also is survived by two children: Carla Utrice Hicks; Carla Leticia Thompson-Stevens.(Sean) five stepchildren: Patricia Frierson, Richard Frierson, Anthony Frierson, Sylvia(Renee) Frierson and Darryl Frierson. And fifteen grandchildren: Amber N Prowell; Kevin L. Thompson-Perry; Amanda S. Hicks; Shane Thompson -Stevens, Maisha Huntington, Quatara McWilliams, Jameela Frierson, Alvinette Rodgers, Michael McWilliams, Shaheed Davis, Mensah Harrison, Ashley Frierson, Sylviaree Frierson, Lyric Frierson and Dillon Carrington and one great-grandchild: Kai Lee Thompson- Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by two brothers: Lucious Thompson; Emmett Thompson and 1 stepson Michael Frierson.
