Ben Asante holds the position of principal consultant with Pipeline Design Solutions, Ltd. A licensed professional engineer with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, in Canada, Ben has extensive experience in system planning and optimization of pipeline systems. Specialization focuses on both single phase and multiphase fluid pipeline applications. Prior to joining Pipeline Design Solutions, Ben was the Director of System Planning and Optimization at Enron Transportation and Storage. Over the past 20 years Ben has acted in the capacity of project leader, technical lead and consultant on numerous pipeline projects within North American and abroad. Ben is an expert in the field of low volumes of entrained liquids in natural gas pipelines and has made multiple publications and technical presentations in his field. Ben has also held positions with Nova Gas Transmission, Nova Gas International and the University of Calgary.

Terry Hughes is a licensed professional engineer with a B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, in Canada. Terry is professionally licensed in Canada and the United States. Prior to forming Pipeline Design Solutions, Terry was Manager of Consulting and Training at Energy Solutions International where he was responsible for leading the consulting and training efforts in the off-line pipeline modeling area. He also held positions of Product Manager and technical advisor on the Pipeline Studio simulator development team. Terry has in excess of 20 years of international experience in the pipeline industry during which time he has held engineering positions in design, planning and operations with both LDC (Northwestern Utilities Ltd. - now ATCO Gas Pipelines) and gas transmission (Nova Gas International and Nova Gas Transmission - now part of the TransCanada Pipelines system) companies. Terry has extensive experience in: gas and liquids simulation modeling pipeline hydraulics, design and operations training system planning, operations and optimization steady state and dynamic analysis economic analysis surge analysis leak sensitivity analysis Terry is among the most qualified people in the pipeline industry to offer hydraulic analysis, consulting and training services.
