The standard for measuring a Data Centres cleanliness is by the number of "microscopic particles found per cubic meter of air". These microscopic particles range in size from 5um* to 1um, 0.5um, 0.3um, 0.2um, 0.1um. Any particle under 5um cannot be seen by the naked eye but can still cause damage to the equipment infrastructure. The ISO 14644-1 standard has classes set up from 1 through 9, with class 1 being the most stringent. A Class 8 Standard allows 3,520,000 of 0.5 particles per cubic meter of air. Class 1 is a very high standard and is only obtainable by very high controlled environments such as drug manufacturers. Although the industry ISO standard is at a class 8, our goal at Pro Active Computer Cleaning Inc. is to reach a class 6 - ISO 14644-1 standard.
