Brenda Randol

Brenda Randol earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, and taught high school math for three years before returning to college to pursue accounting. She has been with Rushing Marine since September of 2006 as our bookkeeper, and helps maintain our customers' safety management systems.

Cassie Koenig

Cassie Koenig joined Rushing Marine in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication with minors in Graphics Communication Technology and Marketing. Cassie coordinates the online safety and security training courses and orientations, and manages the Regulations Handbooks. She also assists with The Rushing Family Trust.

Chandler Fortner

Chandler Fortner joined the Rushing Marine team in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Southeast Missouri State University. Chandler manages the internal vessel audit and survey programs, and assists with numerous other projects. Her dream is to have a towing vessel named the M/V Chan after her someday!

Clint Smith

Clint retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Lieutenant Commander in 2019. During his 20+ year Coast Guard career, he served in a wide variety of positions, including Deck Watch Officer and Coast Guard Boarding Officer, onboard several Coast Guard cutters engaged in search and rescue, law enforcement, and aids to navigation. He spent 14 years in the Marine Safety field as an Investigating Officer and Marine Inspector and held positions in the Gulf and Western Rivers Regions. Clint's most recent position was as an Operations Manager for the Towing Vessel Inspection Bureau. Clint holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Information Sciences from The University of Alabama. He is certified by Exemplar Global as an ISO-9001 Quality Management System Lead Auditor and holds certifications as both a TVIB Lead Auditor for Vessels and Management and Subchapter M Annual Surveyor.

Elmer J. Callow

Elmer J. Callow has an Associates of Science Degree in Quality Control and is a Certified Quality Technician with 26 years of experience in Quality Control. He has held various positions in quality, including both technical and managerial. As a manager he was involved with direct customer reviews of Quality Systems he developed for controlling all aspects of manufactuering, from the raw component to the finished product. He has been a co-facilitator on training personnel about the Pillars of Quality. He has completed the 36-hour ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor training course, is a TVIB-Certified AWO Responsible Carrier Program Lead Auditor, TVIB-Certified Subchapter M Lead Auditor, and TVIB-Certified Subchapter M Surveyor.

Michael W. Rushing

Michael W. Rushing began his career as a deckhand nearly five decades ago, and has continued to work in the marine industry ever since. He began his own towing company, Rushing Marine Corp., with his father, C.W. "Woody" Rushing in 1979, and in 1995 he started Rushing Marine Service, L.L.C. He is currently a TVIB-Certified AWO Responsible Carrier Program Lead Auditor and TVIB-Certified Subchapter M Lead Auditor. Mike has served as a member of the AWO Board of Directors and the Towing Safety Advisory Committee.

Patrick McKinney

Patrick McKinney started with Norfolk Southern Corp. in August 2004 as a conductor and worked his way up to locomotive engineer in 2007. He left Norfolk Southern in April 2008 to relocate to Southern Illinois where he began his career for Kinder Morgan as their MSHA Training Manager. During his time with Kinder Morgan he oversaw all aspects of their MSHA, Illinois DNR and USCG programs, including training, health and safety, and compliance. He was a licensed EMT and is a certified American Heart Association Instructor, Emergency Care and Safety Institute Instructor, MSHA Instructor, Fall Protection Instructor, and Competent Inspector of Fall Protection. He also has training in NIMS 100, NIMS 200, NIMS 300 and NIMS 700 for Incident Command Systems (ICS).

Paul L. Nenninger

Paul L. Nenninger retired from the U.S. Secret Service in 2002 with over 26 years of experience. He enjoyed various assignments throughout the country, and his duties included the protection of all U.S. Presidents from Gerald Ford to George W. Bush, as well as their spouses, children and various foreign heads of state. He has supported and been in charge of security (technical and physical) for every level of person protected by the Service, including evaluating people for the level of threat they may pose. In his last assignment in Training Division he ran the Security Incident Modeling Lab (SIMLAB) that evaluated security plans for a number of permanent sites visited by protectees of the Secret Service.

Roger L. Conner

In 1968, Roger L. Conner started his career in the river industry as a deckhand. Over 30 years later, he is now a retired Pilot and Tankerman. In 1995 he began working with Rushing Marine, providing consulting services and training of U.S. Coast Guard and OSHA regulations. He is a TVIB-Certified AWO Responsible Carrier Program Lead Auditor andTVIB-Certified Subchapter M Lead Auditor. Roger specializes in Person-In-Charge of Vessel Fuel and Oil Transfer training, forklift training and safety training in a variety of other subjects. He is also experienced in Vessel Safety Audits and Inspections.

Stan Knight

Stan Knight Stan A. Knight began his career working for Paducah Marine Ways in 1974. In 1986 he started as a deckhand for B & H Towing. Later he worked as Safety Director and in all other aspects of running a small towboat company. He feels very blessed to have worked for Captain William "Buck" Lay and Captain Quentin Harris. He is honored to have served as past President of The International Propeller Club Port of Paducah Kentucky and Paducah Waterways Association.He also served as past Chairman of The American Waterways Organization's Interregion Safety Committee. In 2016 he retired from American Electric Power (AEP) River Operations where he worked as a Senior Safety Supervisor. After working two years at American Commercial Barge Lines (ACBL) in the Regulatory Compliance Department, he started up his own business, K & K Services LLC. Stan's passion has always been to assist the mariner.

Todd M. Rushing

Todd M. Rushing has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and helped Rushing Marine get started in 1995. He is a TVIB-Certified AWO Responsible Carrier Program Lead Auditor, TVIB-Certified Subchapter M Lead Auditor, TVIB-Certified Subchapter M Surveyor, and Shipyard Competent Person. Todd specializes in the development of Safety and Health Programs and Security Plans. In 1998, he was the co-creator of the Regulations Handbook for Uninspected Towing Vessels and is actively involved with the updates of all our publications. In 1999 he organized the annual C.W. "Woody" Rushing Golf Tournaments in memory of his grandfather, to benefit both local and nationwide charities.
