Greg Edwardson

Greg Edwardson has worked in the marine industry for over thirty years both in the government and the private sectors. Greg started his sea going career in the Canadian Coast Guard on a variety of vessels. He then sailed for the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (Dartmouth Nova Scotia) on Hydrographic/Oceanographic vessels as Chief Engineer in the Arctic and Atlantic ocean. After his sea career Greg Shore worked as a Technical Inspector and then Chief of Technical Inspections for the Canadian Government. Inspections, project management of major ship repairs, dry-dockings, machinery installations and midlife refits were his main tasks. After leaving the government, Greg sailed as Chief Engineer on self unloading and gearless bulk carriers on the Great Lakes and coastal waters. From there he spent seven years as Operations Manager and Fleet Superintendent for two ship management companies operating Great Lakes/coastal vessels each with a fleet of bulk carriers (S/U and gearless) and cement carriers. Greg also acted as owners expert witness during motion of discovery for a major engine failure lawsuit.
