Caroline Slater

As Vice President of Quality, Research and Training, Caroline ensures the consistency and quality of Safety Partners' work by overseeing all aspects of knowledge management and best practices for its programs and trainings. Caroline regularly conducts research into emerging and changing regulations, and trains both clients and Safety Partners staff on regulations and safety standards. Caroline brings over three decades of laboratory experience as a research scientist and as an environmental health and safety consultant to her role. Prior to joining Safety Partners in 2007, Caroline was Senior Associate Scientist at ALTANA Research Institute in Waltham, MA, where she actively served on the firm's Safety Committee as a permanent member, first responder and assistant Radiation Safety Officer. Prior to ALTANA, Caroline served as Senior Research Associate and Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator at Cereon Genomics, LLC, in Cambridge, MA, and as a Research Associate at Matritech, Inc. in Newton, MA.

Denise Aronson - CEO, Founder

Denise is a pioneer in the life science EHS industry. Denise founded Safety Partners Inc. in 1992. Since then, Denise and her team have implemented safety programs for more than 700 of the top life science companies in the northeast. Prior to founding Safety Partners, Denise served as an EHS manager at T Cell Sciences and managed a clinical prenatal diagnostics laboratory. She began her career as a research associate at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, after receiving a BS in Biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire. Denise is a certified chemical hygiene officer through the National Registry of Certified Chemists and an American Chemical Society (ACS) Expert. Denise is active in many professional societies and trade organizations and was a founding member of several leads groups in MA and NYC, the North Shore Technology Council's Bioscience Group and the volunteer team for the annual MALSI Day Conference. Denise is a regular on the industry speaking circuit, and a member of many organizations including MassBio, NewYorkBIO, NYCBB+, NEWISE, NEBSA, ABSA, NE ASSE, NE AIHA, AWIS, WEST, and others. Safety Partners is a Certified Woman-Owned Business and has been named one of the 25 Best Small Companies by Working Mother magazine.

Heather Houde

Job Titles:
  • Senior Director of EHS Client Services
As Senior Director of EHS Client Services, Heather oversees all service and supports overall account management and client satisfaction. She brings over two decades of laboratory experience as both a research scientist and an environmental health and safety consultant to her role. For the past 10+ years, Heather served as Consulting Safety Officer and Team Leader at Safety Partners. Prior to joining Safety Partners in 2006, Heather held the position of Clinical Field Specialist at BioTransplant Inc. in Charlestown, MA, where she helped with the design of Eligix Cell Separation System and its commercial launch in Europe. Her responsibilities included oversight of and training for investigational site visits in accordance with FDA, GCP, and ICH regulations. Heather's career began in 1992 as Cell Processing Technician III at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, where she developed her radiation safety skills, implementing procedures and policies for minimizing exposure to hazardous materials and establishing standard operating procedures for the BL2 laboratory.

Jennifer Reilly - COO, President

As President and Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer manages the daily operations of the company, including client service, service delivery, recruiting, sales, Quality, Research and Training, and daily business operations. Leveraging over 25 years of experience in health and safety and lab operations, Jennifer has developed, managed, and implemented client programs specializing in radiation, chemical, and biological safety while taking on increasing operational responsibilities at Safety Partners. Prior to joining Safety Partners in 2007, Jennifer spent five years at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, MA, where she served as Senior Laboratory and Safety Manager for the laboratory facility. She developed and maintained the environmental health and safety program as well as managed the animal care facility. Prior to Alnylam, Jennifer held research positions at Biogen, Inc., Curis, Inc. (formerly Ontogeny, Inc.), and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.

Jillian Marques

Job Titles:
  • Senior Director, Talent and HR, SHRM - SCP
As Senior Director of Talent and Human Resources, Jillian leads all aspects of Talent Acquisition and Retention, Employee Engagement and Benefits programming with additional focus on Performance Management and Career Development. Prior to joining Safety Partners, Jillian spent 13 years gaining experience in many aspects of HR and Talent Acquisition by supporting small startups in various roles with rapidly increasing responsibility. Driven by the desire of finding a better way to work and a passion for always learning more she became a self-proclaimed HR "geek", digging in to provide meaningful employment experiences. Jillian holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Public Relations from Suffolk University. She also holds her Senior Certified Professional credential from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Susie Harris

Susie oversees the financial and HR activities at Safety Partners. She maintains responsibility for all accounting functions, financial processes, and HR administration. Prior to joining Safety Partners in 2012, Susie was a Sales Associate at Higgins Group Realtors. She has held various finance positions over her career. She maintains a varied set of interests including property investment and management and teaching professional music and voice. She holds a Master's degree in Accounting from Bentley College's Elkin B. McCallum Graduate School of Business; a Master of Science Degree in Early Music Vocal Performance from the Longy School of Music; a Master of Science Degree in Infant and Toddler Studies from Wheelock College; and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Harvard University.
