Dr. Miller joined Sandy Springs Internal Medicine in 2021. Originally from Texas, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas and later received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been honored the Castle Connolly Top Doctor of Atlanta in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021,2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Dr. Ahn joined the practice in 1996. After earning his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Ahn went on to receive his medical degree from Emory University Medical School. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Emory University affiliated hospitals. He is certified and recertified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Over the decades, Dr. Ahn has been honored with a variety of awards including Top Doctor by Atlanta Magazine & Castle Connolly from 2006-Present, Best Doctors of America in 2007-2013, the Emory University Humanitarian Award and the Helen Miller Award.
Dr. Rashmi Sharma joined Sandy Springs Internal Medicine in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience in both ophthalmology and internal medicine. Originally from Delhi, India, Dr. Sharma's journey in medicine began at the esteemed Lady Hardinge Medical College, where she earned her medical degree and completed her residency in ophthalmology. After moving to the United States, she completed her internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Georgia in 2009.
Dr. Sharma has worked at leading institutions, including Emory University Hospital, where she served as faculty, hospitalist, and participated in research and quality improvement initiatives.
Her passion for personalized, empathetic care led her to transition into outpatient medicine with Wellstar Medical Group in Douglasville, Georgia. During her years with larger medical groups, Dr. Sharma realized the importance of providing compassionate, approachable care tailored to each patient's needs.
This realization inspired her to open her own solo practice Care First Medical, where she could partner with her patients to help them achieve their best health. In 2024, Dr. Sharma joined Sandy Springs Internal Medicine to further align her patient care philosophy with a practice that emphasizes collaboration, high quality and individualized care.
Dr. Sharma approaches her patients with empathy and understanding, creating a safe, comfortable space for them to share their concerns. She believes that the key to optimal health is a partnership between the patient and physician, working together to achieve health goals. Good health can be achieved when the mind, body, and spirit are harmonious. She sees herself as a partner, side by side with her patients, cheering them on and inspiring them to nurture and nourish themselves. Dr. Sharma feels great joy and satisfaction watching her patients' health improve. In her words: "Your health is a precious gift, and I am here to be your partner in preserving it."
Dr. Reed earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Reed completed his internal medicine residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and affiliated with the American College of Physicians. Over the years, Dr. Reed has been presented with awards such as the Best Doctors of America, the Doctors of Excellence by Leaders in Healthcare Network and Top Doctor by International Association of Internists. One of his favorite pastimes is watching golf and he has attended every Masters Golf Tournament since 1962, except during COVID-19 when the tournament was cancelled.
Dr. Gower joined the practice in 1981 and has decades of experience in internal and preventive medicine. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Emory University, Dr. Gower went on to earn his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine where he earned membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Emory University affiliated hospitals. Dr. Gower was selected as a Top Doctor by Atlanta Magazine & Castle Connolly in 2007, 2009-2022 and has also been awarded as one of the "Best Doctors in America" yearly since 2001. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Gower enjoys organic vegetable gardening, playing golf and traveling.
