I have an artist's eye for the natural forms, colors and textures of the Texas landscape. I grew up in Houston but lived in several cities throughout Texas. Drawing and painting have been an important part of my life since early childhood. The nature of my work is about light, caught in a moment of time. The interplay of shadows and the changes of color that bring a richness and depth to the moment. The handling of details and textures help to enhance that feeling. I have chosen to use a realistic approach to landscape painting because it best suits my style of seeing the natural world. The infinite variety of colors, textures, movement, moods and atmospheres excites me, and challenges me each time I approach a canvas. Nature brings to me and I hope others, a moment of peace, a refreshment of the soul and a brief encounter with creation.
