My doctoral research focused on stress, fatigue and burnout. This resulted in the development of a novel concept and measurement instrument (a survey) for Leadership Fatigue™... LEADERSHIP FATIGUE™: Mental, physical and/or emotional fatigue resulting from prolonged stress, due to uncontrollable forces in the work environment secondary to a leadership role, causing insidious consequences to one's performance, overall health and work-life balance... I've always had a passion for helping others and an entrepreneurial spirit. Both led me to choose a varied career solely in the healthcare industry during the last four+ decades. My vast experience as a clinical nurse, nursing supervisor, operations improvement coordinator, nurse executive, healthcare consultant, leadership educator, and business author have led me to the present - solving the most challenging problems in healthcare organizations with a focus on health and well-being.
