Systems Society of India (SSI) is a 'professional body' of distinguished Engineers and Scientists from Engineering Science including Social studies related research. It promotes the advancement and practice of systems approach to engineering, technology and social systems... Problems of the real world call for integrative, holistic thinking which the Systems approach with its transdisciplinary concepts would seem to provide. The Systems Thinking assumes that the real world exhibits emergent properties at virtually all levels of complexity and that it is therefore useful to examine the world in terms of wholes which exhibit these properties... There exist models, principles, and laws that apply to generalized systems or their subclasses, irrespective of their particular kind, the nature of their component elements, and the relationships or "forces" between them. It seems legitimate to ask for a theory, not of systems of a more or less special kind, but of universal principles applying..
