TAKU LODGE

Taku Lodge was originally built by Dr. Harry C. DeVighne in 1923. He opened it up as one of Alaskas first Hunting and fishing Lodges available for overnight guests. The lodge was used as a base camp as they conducted their excursions all around the valleys and streams of the Taku River... Our goal in supporting this program is to promote JIRP's awareness and encourage the data collection of the glacial landscape that is our backyard... To the owners and employees of Wings Airways & Taku Lodge, Juneau is our home. In fact, Juneau, the Taku River region, the Tongass National Forest and the Juneau Icefield are so much more than destinations we operate- its where we have raised generations, where we recreate, and the special place we choose to share with visitors from around the world via floatplane. Juneau is our home and our future. Because of this, we are determined to keep it pristine and sustainable.
