Brian Smith, President and Lead General Contractor, launched Taylor Custom Homes in 2003 through hard work, perseverance and a dedication to providing excellent customer service to each client. Brian developed a passion for construction as a young man working alongside his father - a veteran of the local residential construction industry. Named for his firstborn daughter Alexis ‘Taylor' Smith, Taylor Custom Homes has grown into a thriving business where Brian and his team continue to build beautiful custom homes and provide home remodeling services for clients across the Triangle.
Brian's attention to detail and ability to listen to the customer really makes Taylor Custom Homes unique. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, there is no doubt that every aspect of the home has been carefully and painstakingly constructed.
Brian attended East Carolina University and North Carolina State University where he studied Business Management and Finance. Brian co-owned and operated The Renovators - Fine Remodeling, Inc. with his father from 1992 - 1996, where he provided custom home renovations, additions, and complete home remodeling from design through final build. Brian became a licensed NC General Contractor in early 1996. Shortly after that, he joined the UpRight Builders team serving as Lead Superintendent and General Contractor. His craftsmanship and thoughtful designs have been recognized and awarded on the NC Parade of Homes in Orange and Wake County.
Today, Brian Smith continues his goal of assisting others in realizing their dream of owning a superior quality, exquisite, custom built home through the fine craftsmanship of Taylor Custom Homes of NC, Inc.

A native of Cary NC, Renee Smith serves as Vice President, Selections Coordinator and Licensed Realtor for Taylor Custom Homes. Renée helps with many responsibilities including client liaison and selections coordinator, as well as providing Realtor services for our customers. Her eye for design and detail are instrumental in helping our clients choose finishes and decor that reflect their unique personalities and today's styles.
Graduating in 1996 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a major in Psychology and minor in Chemistry, she immediately found her calling in customer service, public relations and marketing. From helping startups reach their potential to streamlining the marketing campaigns of major corporations, she has served such clients as Midway Airlines, AT&T Solutions, and MetLife.
Not only does Renée help us with our day-to-day support, she also serves as Vice President and Sales Manager of Fonville Morisey in Cary. Her extensive knowledge of the Triangle area housing market make her an indispensable and valuable part of our team and suite of services.
