Kathryn Dauer

is a graduate of the Ithaca College School of Music, Theater, and Dance earning a B.M. in Vocal Music Education. Currently, Kathryn is serving as the Choral Director and General Music teacher for Hopewell Elementary School in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District. While teaching she is in the process of earning a M.M in Music Education from Rowan University. Kathryn has been involved with music ministry at The Catholic Community of Saint Charles Borromeo since 2015 serving as a cantor and choir member and most recently a member of the orchestra, playing the violin. In addition to this, she has been a member of the Tim Keyes Consort since 2016. She also spent two years (2021-2023) directing the Music Ministry for the Ithaca College Catholic Community. During her time at Ithaca College, Kathryn studied voice with Dr. Rachel Schutz, Piano with Dr. Diane Birr, and Organ with Dr. Matthew Hall. She sang with the Ithaca College Chorus, Treble Chorale, Madrigals Singers, and Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Hana Cai and Dr. Sean Linfors. In addition, she served as the Alto I section leader for the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers, based in Ithaca, New York, directed by Dr. Baruch Whitehead. As a member of the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers, she performed at Carnegie Hall (2021), alongside the Fisk Jubilee Singers with their director Dr Paul Kwami. Additionally, Kathryn is an alumni of a professional music fraternity, Mu Phi Epsilon, Lambda chapter, and has served in the roles of Historian, Vice President, and Pledge Mentor. She has spent time teaching private music lessons on voice, piano, and trumpet, and served as the director of performing arts and music teacher at Eagles Landing Day Camp in New Brunswick, NJ from 2020-2023. As a composer, Kathryn first studied composition with Tim Keyes and later continued her studies with Dr Jorge Grossman at Ithaca College. As a member of the Tim Keyes Consort, Kathryn has had the opportunity to compose multiple pieces that the consort has performed, including Storm at Sea (2018) and Parva Lux (2019).
