Jim Steuerwald, president of United Craftsmen Inc., has been building homes in the Madison area since 1978, but the family tradition of quality construction goes back many years. His grandfather Gilbert Steuerwald was a builder contractor with offices at 5115 W. Burleigh St., Milwaukee, and built several custom homes in the historic Sherman Park neighborhood along 51st Boulevard in the 1920's.
