My career began with Amoco as a member of their tech-group for the New Orleans office. I was one of the geophysicist who received a patent for a tomographic technique which Amoco used to search for amplitude anomalies...
After leaving Amoco, my next position was with Placid Oil in Dallas where I became the lead geophysicist for their offshore Gulf of Mexico effort. We acquired several blocks and made some discoveries as well as farmed out some deep water blocks to Exxon which were successful for Exxon. I later worked at Placid's Salt Lake City office as the District Geophysicist. While we did not make any discoveries, many of our ideas are just now being proven by the current success in Central Utah.
