Our office has been a part of this community for a very long time. Dr. Husain was fortunate enough to take the practice over in April of 2006. We practice in a modern, well equipped and fully wheelchair accessible office. Dr. Husain has been practicing dentistry since 1995 after graduating from the University of Toronto. She has a keen interest in General practice for families and has taken advanced courses in the fields of cosmetics and comprehensive care. Our office team includes trained and experienced members consisting of hygiene therapists, certified assistants, receptionist and a treatment coordinator. Dr. Fawzia Husain has an undergraduate degree from 1991 in BioScience from the University of Manitoba. Born in Calgary, her family moved several times due to work opportunities and as such has traveled significantly and made ties with people all over the world. Dr. Husain promotes her profession in many different avenues. She truly enjoys learning and continues to advance herself with memberships in several study clubs and dental associations.
Dr. Husain believes in comfortable, non threatening dentistry. She treats her patients as individuals and encourages their input into their dental health. Dental well being is individual to each patient and communication is essential in recognizing their needs and wishes. We practice all areas of dentistry with the highest degree of care and quality. Dr. Husain strongly believes in education for herself and her staff and sharing this knowledge with our patients. Dentistry aside, her passion lies in travel, good friends, family and food from all origins. Dr. Husain is married and has 2 children; a son Kamran and her daughter Sophia. They proudly call Waterloo their home.
Dr. Javad Jalayer found his passion for dentistry at a young age watching his mother transform smiles and educating patients and dental students.
He has a strong background in both the academic and clinical aspects of dentistry receiving his first DDS degree from Iran in 2010 and his second DDS from the University of Toronto in 2017 with awards and honours. He has a passion for keeping up with new materials and techniques in dentistry and has published some of his research in the fields of restorative dentistry and orthodontics in well-known international dental journals.
Since graduating from the University of Toronto, he's been practicing as a general dentist in different communities in Burlington, Brampton, and Toronto. He has established long-term trusting relationships with his peers and patients.
"Dr. J"- as he is known by his patients, joined Waterloo Smiles Dentistry knowing that he shares the passion for preventive dentistry and patient education. He finds pride in high-level evidence-based patient care and is excited to start this new chapter of his life in beautiful Waterloo.
