Wendy White (born 1971 Deep River, CT, lives in NYC) is an artist whose work encompasses painting, sculpture, and installation and often references symbols and iconography of contemporary advertising, branding, American pop culture, and twentieth-century art history. Through juxtaposing gestural mark-making and fabricated elements, White uses sculptural and spatial interventions to defy and expand the boxed-in limitations of the traditional canvas.
