Andrew D. Byrd

Andrew is a partner with Warner Law Offices. He grew up in South Charleston, West Virginia. He was educated from kindergarten through high school in Kanawha County's public school system. Following graduation from South Charleston High School, Andrew attended West Virginia University, earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. He went on to attend West Virginia University's College of Law, earning his doctorate of jurisprudence. During law school, he served as Vice President of his class and was the Director of the VITA program, an income tax return assistance program. After graduating law school, Andrew returned to South Charleston to begin practicing law and to start a family-owned business in South Charleston where he works to improve residential development across the Kanawha Valley. Andrew spent the first six years of his legal career in the defense firms of Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC and Mannion & Gray Co., L.P.A. During his tenure with these firms, Andrew gained significant civil litigation and courtroom experience in consumer law, employment law, governmental liability, personal injury, automobile collisions, workplace injuries, premises liability, medical malpractice, and product liability. Andrew also has considerable experience practicing before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Some of Andrew's representative cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court are Landis v. Hearthmark, 750 S.E.2d 280 (W.Va. 2013) and Ohio Power Company v. Pullman Power, LLC, 741 S.E.2d 830 (W.Va. 2013); and McClure v. City of Hurricane, 711 S.E.2d 552 (W.Va. 2010). He is also admitted to practice in the state of Kentucky. Andrew was invited as a charter member by Distinguished Justice Advocates, an honor extended to less than half of 1% of practicing attorneys in the United States. He has also been given the West Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Star Award for eight consecutive years. Andrew currently resides in South Charleston, West Virginia with his wife Christina, their son, Connor, and English Bulldog, Gus. Andrew is a former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates where he served six (6) years representing the 35th District. He and Christina are members of First United Methodist Church in South Charleston. They dedicate a majority of their time supporting multiple charities and organizations throughout the Kanawha Valley and West Virginia, including Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Clay Center, West Virginia Child Advocacy Network, YWCA, Heart and Hand, the West Virginia Alzheimer's Association, and Beyond the Backyard, A Bobby Warner Charitable Youth Organization. Ashlee Parsons

Ashlee Parsons Joined Warner Law Offices in February 2022. She is a legal assistant who works to support paralegals in various tasks with over 5 years of experience. She graduated from Mountwest Community & Technical College and served with the Army National Guard until December 2020. Ashlee is married and enjoys travelling with her husband.

Early in his career he started a booster seat program for needy families after he represented a family whose child was injured in a car accident because the family was unable to afford a car seat. Since that time, more than 1,000 booster seats have been donated to families throughout West Virginia. For approximately 10 years, the Warner Family Foundation has been a generous supporter of programs and special projects in the region, providing much-needed sponsorships to help non-profit organizations achieve their goals.

Jennifer Lacy

Jennifer Lacy is an experienced professional who brings more than 20 years of legal and administrative experience to her role as office manager for Warner Law Offices. She joined the firm in 2005 and is the "go-to" person for everything at Warner Law Offices. She oversees the day-to-day administrative functions of Warner Law Offices' operations and serves as a liaison with the firm's office services, human resources, information systems, and accounting departments. Jennifer grew up in St. Albans, West Virginia. She still resides there with her husband, Brian, and children, Caleb, Kailee, and Sayda. She also has two step-children, Christopher and Brianna, and 7 grandchildren. She graduated from St. Albans High School in 1993. She attended West Virginia State University and started out her career in banking before coming to Warner Law Offices. In her spare time, Jennifer can be found on the softball and lacrosse fields cheering on her children.

Kim McQuain

Kim McQuain is the paralegal to attorney Truman Griffith and has over 20 years of experience in the personal injury field. In 2007 Kim came to work at Warner Law Offices. Kim provides solid and reliable assistance and serves as a listening ear to our clients. She presents a calm, helpful and supportive demeanor as she handles their immediate needs, while patiently explaining procedures. She is also relied upon for drafting necessary documents, meeting directly with the clients, and scheduling appointments and court appearances. Kim grew up in Raleigh County, West Virginia. After graduating from Independence High School in 2000, she attended West Virginia Junior College where she earned her associates degree in legal office assisting. When she is not at work, she likes spending time with her friends and family. She and her husband, Steve, and their daughter, Kailyn, live in Charleston.

Leanne Shinkle

Leanne Shinkle joins Warner Law Offices with 8 years of digital media experience in her role as Marketing Director. She specializes in writing, digital strategy, marketing, and design. Leanne's previous experience includes working as a journalist covering news stories across the mountain state and building digital platforms and campaigns for national nonprofits. Leanne grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to West Virginia in 2014 to attend West Virginia University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and minored in Spanish. During her time at WVU, Leanne studied abroad in Spain, was an Activism Writer for 100 Days in Appalachia, and worked in production for U-92, the student radio station. When she isn't working, Leanne enjoys exploring West Virginia with her fiancé and two stepchildren, teaching ESL, and working on art and design projects.

Mandy Carpenter

Mandy Carpenter joined Warner Law Offices in February 2015 and brings over 15 years' experience in the legal field. She is responsible for greeting clients, handling front office reception, and supports the attorneys and staff in various administrative duties. She grew up in Sissonville, West Virginia, and graduated from Sissonville High School in 1995. She has lived in Kenna, West Virginia for the past 20 years. She is married to Randy Carpenter, Jr. of 25 years and they have two children, Rhianna and Dylan. When she isn't working you can find her at church singing praises to the Lord, spending time with her family, traveling, and sharing her gift of laughter. One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 23.

Rae McCormick

Rae McCormick grew up in South Charleston, West Virginia and graduated from South Charleston High School in 2004. She currently resides in Kanawha City with her husband, Seth, and two children, Samara and Aiden. After high school, Rae went on to become a cosmetologist and was a hairdresser for many years. She came to Warner Law Offices in August 2017 as our intake specialist. Rae quickly found her passion for customer relations and helping others. She has a tender heart, and a special gift for making others feel comfortable during difficult times. When not working, Rae spends all of her time fishing and ATV riding with her family and friends.

Shelly Ferguson

Shelly Ferguson is a paralegal with Warner Law Offices where she assists attorney David Shuman in medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. In this position, she prepares pleadings, performs expert and medical research, and investigates opposing parties. In addition, she also obtains, organizes, and summarizes medical records and identifies and retains experts. Her experience also includes assisting with trial preparation, identifying and interviewing key witnesses, and preparing and responding to discovery requests. Shelly grew up in Hurricane, West Virginia. After graduating from Hurricane High School, she attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV, for Criminal Justice and then earned her Business Degree at the University of Phoenix. She has spent the last twenty-five years working at various law firms throughout Putnam, Cabell and Kanawha counties before working here. Shelly resides in Winfield with her husband, Fred, and their four children, Whitney, Sara, Colston, and Marlee. When she is not at work, Shelly likes spending time with her friends and family. She also loves to travel and spend time in her backyard pool.

Tara Chandler

Tara Chandler has been with Warner Law Offices for over 15 years as a paralegal to Bobby Warner and Andrew Byrd. Tara focuses primarily on workplace injury and other various personal injury matters. Tara uses her considerable multitasking skills and customer service experience to help support the attorneys and their clients. She assists clients by providing regular contact and updates, managing the discovery process, maintaining the case calendar and deadlines, and drafting pleadings and letters. She also maintains all document production and the client case file and is integral in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, and trials. She is originally from Hamlin located in Lincoln County, West Virginia, and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1992. She has worked in the legal field for over 27 years in various states including Hawaii, South Carolina, and West Virginia. Tara enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and running. Tara and her husband, Josh, have three children: Adrianna, Emma, and Thomas

Truman Griffith

Truman Griffith is a partner with Warner Law Offices and a dedicated advocate for his clients. He has successfully represented thousands of injured men, women and children over the course of his law practice. He chose to practice personal injury law very early in his career because of his strong desire to help the "little guy." Whether these individuals are injured by the actions of corporations that put profits over safety or are simply being offered unfair amounts by the insurance companies responsible for compensating them, Truman is extremely passionate about standing up for those who are facing down these corporate giants. Truman has significant courtroom experience and has negotiated hundreds of settlements for his clients across the state of West Virginia, including: obtaining favorable verdicts and settlements in a variety of auto-accident and trucking-accident cases resulting in serious injuries and death; successfully settling numerous cases resulting from the Columbia Gas pipeline explosion in Sissonville, West Virginia; obtaining favorable settlements is cases involving injuries resulting from slip, trip and fall accidents, property damage due to negligent construction, "deliberant intent" workplace injuries, skiing accidents, golf cart rollover, dog bites, property damage due to landslides, motorcycle accidents, injuries resulting from forklift operation, and a variety of other complex personal injury cases. Truman is also active in the trial lawyer community, both locally and on the national level. In West Virginia, he is a board member of the West Virginia Association for Justice (WVAJ). In 2004, he earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he served on the WVU College of Law Moot Court Board. He is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and the state of Colorado. When not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay Jackfert Griffith, his children, Madison, Alex, Jack, and Caroline. He also enjoys travelling, running, golfing, coaching his son's baseball and soccer teams and cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers. Whitney Williams

Whitney Williams is an intake specialist at Warner Law Offices and manages the processing of new case intakes. Through her ability to empathize and express compassion to injured victims she works to facilitate the representation process for new clients as they seek legal representation. Whitney is from St. Albans, WV and graduated from St. Albans High School in 2009. She currently lives in Charleston, WV with her two dogs and two cats. After graduating high school, Whitney attended Marshall University and studied Psychology and Computer Science. Outside of work, she continues her studies of coding and enjoys reading, video games, and spending time with friends and family.
