Ian Harris - CFO

Ian Harris joined Lomar as Chief Accountant in December 2009. Ian's career in accounting and finance has been centred entirely on the shipping industry. Starting in 1996, he spent four years as an Accountant for Andrew Weir Shipping and covered trades across Northern Europe, The Americas, India and the Sub-Continent. He then joined a South African trade consortium and provided services as a Pool Accountant for leading shipping companies including Maersk Lines, P&0 Nedlloyd, Safmarine and DAL. In 2005 Ian joined Allocean group as Senior Accountant with responsibility for all accounting and reporting functions to Allocean's publicly-listed parent company, Allco Finance Group. He managed Allocean's accounting team during a period of considerable growth including the expansion of its fleet from 18 to over 60 vessels. As a member of Lomar's management team Ian is now responsible for all aspects of accounting, statutory reporting and in-house reporting.

John Baziotis - CIO

John Baziotis is Head of Information Technology at Lomar Shipping, with responsibility for IT infrastructure across the company's offices and vessels, ensuring the effective, secure and efficient running of systems. He joined Lomar in 2014, having previously worked for our parent Libra Group, controlling the smooth operation of its group and subsidiary computer infrastructure and other technologies, including its communication systems. Before joining Lomar, John worked as a software developer of high quality social applications for PlayCloud. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire.

Katia Galouka

Katia Galouka was appointed HR Manager in 2022, two years after joining Lomar as HR Officer. Before joining Lomar she was a freelance HR Consultant and prior to that a Chartering Operator and subsequently a Sales & Purchase Broker at URSA Shipbrokers. She began her career in HR as a founding member and co-chair of an Athens-based non-profit organisation where she sourced candidates for many shipping companies. Katia is an accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator who also holds an MSc in International Shipping & Finance from Henley Business School, and a BSc in Management Science & Technology from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

MARIUS BUJOR - CTO

Marius Bujor originally joined Lomar in 2014. Following several promotions he became our Technical Director in 2023, leading our global technical teams. He originally joined as a Technical Superintendent, before becoming Fleet Manager four years later, and then Deputy Technical Director in late 2022. Before joining Lomar, Marius spent seven years with HS Beerederungs GmbH in Germany, with five of those overseeing the company's newbuilding projects in Europe & Asia, and two years as Technical Superintendent at the company headquarters in Haren/EMS. He spent his earlier career in various roles on shore and at sea, latterly as a Second Engineer. Marius holds a Master's Degree in Advanced Techniques of Marine Engineering and a BSc in Marine Engineering from the Maritime University of Constanta, Romania. He also holds a licence as a Chief Engineer STCW III/2. Marius has a passion for many outdoor sports, including diving & cyclo-cross.

Mark Kethisouaran - CFO

Mark Kethisouaran was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in September 2023 and leads a finance and accounts team based at the company's London headquarters, together with teams in our Bremen and Singapore offices. He joined Lomar in 2015 as its Commercial Analyst, before being promoted to Senior Investment Analyst and subsequently to Senior Investment Manager.

Nicholas Georgiou - CEO, COO

Nicholas Georgiou joined Lomar as Chief Operating Officer in 2010 and became Chief Executive Officer in October 2020. Following a degree at UCL in London, Nicholas began his career in shipping with Golden Union Shipping of Piraeus, Greece in 1995. During his 15 years at Golden Union, a specialist in dry bulk carriers, he gained experience in every aspect of ship ownership and management: chartering, operations, disbursements and ship agency activities. One of his notable achievements was implementation of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code across the company. This entailed extensive compliance training of both land-based and shipboard personnel. Following a role in the operations dept, Nicholas joined Golden Union Shipping's chartering division in 2001 where he was engaged in all aspects of chartering including interaction with the company's legal division regarding claims handling. Nicholas is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and as Chief Executive Officer he holds overall responsibility for Lomar's strategy, development and management.

Peter Cotopoulis - COO

Peter Cotopoulis was promoted to Lomar's Chief Operating Officer (COO) in September 2023, twelve years after joining the company as a Chartering Executive. Based in Singapore since 2015, he now leads the Chartering and Operations departments for Lomar globally. Peter is also the Director of Lomar's office in Singapore. His career in shipping began when he joined Seabreeze UK in 2006, before moving to the broker Tollard Shipping in 2009 where Peter chartered many vessel types for several Greek Owners. Appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in 2011, Peter joined Lomar as Chartering Executive in the same year. He has worked in chartering of Bulkers, Gas Carriers, Crude & Product Tankers and Containerships.

Peter Mellis

Peter Mellis joined in December 2023 as Senior Advisor - Corporate Development, with responsibility for helping to advance Lomar's investment strategy and business development. Based in the United States, he has over 20 years of experience in banking and private equity-backed businesses. Peter was previously Group Commercial Director of V.Group, headed Business Development in the Americas region and global relationships with banks and financial sponsors. He was previously a Director at RBC Capital Markets where he led advisory and capital markets transactions in the maritime, transportation and logistics sector, and has also worked within Citigroup's investment banking team, having started his career at J.P. Morgan on the Global Markets Investment Strategy Team. Peter graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Economics from Brown University, where he was presented with the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa award that recognises outstanding intellectual distinction among undergraduates. He received his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was also selected for UPENN's Outstanding Student Honour Society.

Savahna Nightingale - CCO

Savahna joined Lomar in 2022 as Communications Director, and oversees all areas of PR, including internal and external communications. An international broadcast producer and award-winning journalist, Savahna was most recently Global Head of Marketing and Communications at a leading shipping services provider handling a multi-million-ton cargo portfolio annually, across a nine-office global network.

Warrick Ross

Warrick Ross joined Lomar as Financial Controller in 2020 and is responsible for the financial and management reporting and overseeing the maintenance of internal controls. Born in Australia, he qualified as a Certified Practicing Accountant in 1996, before moving to the UK in 1997. After a couple of years initially working in offshore finance he moved on to become Group Finance Director at Cephalon, a US biopharmaceutical company, before becoming Financial Controller at the speciality pharmaceutical company, Neuropharm Group. He first entered the shipping industry with Global Ship Lease in 2010, initially as Financial Controller and then Chief Accounting Officer, before joining Lomar. Warrick holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, Australia.
