Brian Hensley

Brian Hensley joined 3S in 2018 as our general manager. His role includes leading 3S into continued sustainable growth by providing our customers with efficient and cost-effective engineering and certification solutions. Brian draws on more than 25 years of industry experience, including as a program manager and a chief engineer at Beechcraft (Textron Aviation) in Special Missions. Additionally, he has a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in business administration. Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He is passionate about supporting Habitat for Humanity through monetary donations and volunteering.

Mark Dannar

  • 3S As Our Business Development Manager
After retiring from the Boeing Company and several years at Beechcraft (Textron Aviation), Mark Dannar joined 3S as our business development manager in 2016. His role includes demonstrating to customers the value proposition of an ODA and showing them why 3S can be a discriminator for them in the marketplace. Mark draws on his experience in various management positions, mostly as a program manager for military programs across multiple platforms with domestic and international customers. Mark enjoys spending time with his family and he and his wife both have active hobbies as musicians. Throughout his career he has been involved in supporting local and church-sponsored programs that benefit Wichita and the surrounding communities.

Robert (Scott) Lysen - COO

After decades at Beechcraft (Textron Aviation), Robert (Scott) Lysen joined 3S as our director of operations in 2014. His role within the company includes program management of selected STC projects and overall operations management. Along with his extensive experience, Scott draws from an education in aircraft maintenance engineering (bachelor's degree) and business administration (master's degree). He has also earned an Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certificate from the FAA. Scott actively supports the United Way of the Plains and is involved in the YMCA "We Care" Thanksgiving Dinner.

Steve Roach

Job Titles:

Drawing from decades of experience at Beechcraft (Textron Aviation), Steve Roach has been the chief engineer at 3S since 2016. Prior to 3S, he became adept working within the special mission aircraft industry and had varied experience with new product development and Sustaining Engineering (SE). Steve's role includes oversight of the design, certification and project management activities of several programs. He also works new business development and supporting activities with our parent company, Sierra Nevada Corporation. Steve is passionate about volunteering with his church, walking, reading and visiting historic sites.

Steve Simpson

  • Lead Administrator, ODA / Director, Certification
With 3S since 2014, Steve Simpson has more than 30 years of industry experience with a demonstrated history of driving highly complex certification projects to completion in the categories of airlines, aviation and defense. His previous experience includes a position as an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR), position as an FAA ODA administrator and training in both Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). At 3S, Steve provides certification and quality leadership and maintains the ODA lead administrator role. He directly interfaces with multiple branches of the FAA to promote and maintain the ODA authorization and ensure the overall organization maintains full and continuous compliance with federal regulations. Steve actively supports various non-profit organizations to provide food, shelter and medical assistance to those in need.

Steve Talman

  • Engineering Design Manager
With 3S since 2017, Steve Talman has an aeronautical engineering degree from Bedford College in Bedford, United Kingdom and decades of industry experience that has included various engineering leadership positions with Beechcraft (Textron Aviation). At 3S, Steve is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the engineering design team as well as supporting active design programs at the 3S headquarters in Wichita and other programs at our parent company, Sierra Nevada Corporation. He is also responsible for providing engineering technical guidance for new business pursuits and proposal efforts. Steve is an avid scuba diver and world traveler who is always looking for the next adventure!
