Keith Burns is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Atlas Surveying, Inc. Keith was born and raised on Hilton Head Island and began his surveying career alongside Billy in 2000 as an Instrument Operator and then Party Chief for T-Square Group in Bluffton. In 2016, and with 16 years of experience Keith successfully completed the fundamental, practical and legal exams to become a professional Land Surveyor. Keith has two decades of surveying experience in highly detailed existing conditions surveys where a vast amount of data is collected and compiled into a comprehensive digital CAD file to be used by civil engineers for design. He resides in Rock Hill with his family and runs Atlas Surveying, Inc's. Charlotte Operations.
As Executive Vice President, Tim is responsible for business development, value engineering, and the interpretation of project design plans for the field survey personnel at Atlas Surveying, Inc. Tim has four decades of experience as a manager of professional service companies providing surveying, planning and engineering services. A significant portion of his experience is on public transportation improvement projects for state departments of transportation, counties and municipalities. He has been active throughout the years with the American Society of Civil Engineers, Institute of Transportation Engineers, Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Fraternity, American Subcontractors Association of the Carolinas. He has served on numerous planning and zoning boards, boards for numerous youth sports, and he currently resides on Hilton Head Island where he serves on the board of directors for the Hilton Head Area Builders Association and the Windmill Harbour Homeowners Assocation.
Billy Gray is the heart and mind behind Atlas Surveying, Inc. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Management from Clemson University and continued his education in Survey Principles from Savannah State University. Billy began his surveying career in 1995 as an Instrument Operator and then Party Chief for T-Square Group of Bluffton. A licensed Professional Land Surveyor in SC, NC, GA, FL, KY & AL, Billy has handled large-scale projects in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and the Bahamas. Billy resides in Bluffton with his family and is involved with various Hilton Head Island youth Athletic Associations, American Subcontractors Association of the Carolinas, Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association and The South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
Billy Gray is the President of Atlas Surveying, Inc. He is a graduate of Clemson University and is a Registered Land Surveyor in SC, GA, NC, FL, KY & AL. After spending over 10 years working for two engineering & surveying companies, he created Atlas Surveying, Inc. in 2004. He believed that working smarter, communicating effectively, and providing accurate data in a timely manner would create the foundation to carve out a business in the surveying profession. In that time, he has built a staff that believes in those same ideals to respond to the growing needs for land surveying. His staff's accessibility and responsiveness has gained the trust of a variety of builders, developers, site contractors, engineers, land planners, and architects throughout our regions. Being a surveyor with the experience working at an engineering firm, Billy knows first hand what information is critical to the architectural, land planning, and civil design processes. That experience guides his staff to ask the right questions and provide the right answers. Teamwork is critical to the success of any project and effectively communicating facilitates that success.
