Brian Kwon

Dr. Kwon is an active member of several medical societies, i.e., North American Spine Society (NASS), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS). Because of his extensive background in scientific research, he was asked to serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques - a preeminent peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal for spine clinicians. In addition, Dr. Kwon is a frequently requested speaker and often presents his research to national and international audiences.

Dr. Glen Ross

Dr. Glen Ross is an Orthopedic Surgeon, and director of education for Sports Medicine at New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH). He is also on staff at Boston Outpatient Surgery Center, and Mount Auburn Hospital. He is the founder and director of the New England Shoulder and Elbow Center within ProSports Orthopedics. In addition to his work at NEBH, Dr. Ross holds academic appointments as Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, and at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He has authored numerous articles, with over 35 publications in leading Orthopaedic journals. Additionally, Dr. Ross has lectured extensively, both locally and internationally. He is a member of several specialty societies, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. His numerous awards include the Bill Southmayd teaching award, and a Neer award nominee for outstanding shoulder research. Dr. Ross is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital, after earning his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He is a retired Captain in the Naval Medical Corps Reserve, having served for 25 years. A specialist in shoulder and elbow disorders, Dr. Ross has research, and clinical interests, in upper extremity injuries, and conditions. He has extensive experience in treatment of shoulder arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder arthroscopy, and instability. His elbow expertise includes disorders of tendons and ligaments, arthritis, and elbow arthroscopy.

Dr. Ryan Friedberg

Dr. Ryan Friedberg is a sports medicine physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center who specializes in the non-operative management of general orthopedic and sports-related injuries. His clinical expertise includes knee, hip, shoulder, foot and ankle injuries. Dr. Friedberg evaluates and treats all sports and general orthopaedic injuries. Dr. Friedberg graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994 with honors in biology. During his four years at the University of Pittsburgh he was also a letterman for the Panthers football team. Dr. Friedberg went on to graduate from medical school at MCP- Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He did his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA; and in emergency medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Friedberg completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Children's Hospital, Boston, in 2005 under the tutelage of Lyle Micheli, MD, and Pierre D'Hemecourt, MD. Dr. Friedberg's research focus and interests include the management of acute knee injuries as well as the non-operative management of tendonitis. Dr. Friedberg has given lectures at numerous local, regional, national and international conferences. He also has multiple publications including poster presentations, scientific research articles and book chapters. When he is not working clinically or doing research, he spends his academic time teaching medical students and residents Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine.

James Phillips

Dr. Phillips earned his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed an internship followed by his residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition he did a fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Dr. Phillips's clinical interests include total knee and hip joint replacement and minimally invasive total joint replacement.

Jennifer B. Green

She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society and a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association of Surgery of the Hand. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Green has published multiple book chapters and journal articles, and she continues to perform research pertaining to the upper extremity. She is also a Consultant Reviewer for the distinguished Journal of Hand Surgery. Dr. Green is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, and she has received a Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery.

Jinsil K. Sung

Dr. Jinsil Sung is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity for both adult and pediatric patients. Her clinical interests include both acute injuries, such as fractures and lacerations, as well as more chronic ailments, such as arthritis, Dupuytren's disease, and nerve dysfunction. Dr. Sung grew up in Maryland but completed her undergraduate degree at MIT where she received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She then received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine where she was a Dean's Scholarship Recipient and a Hans R. Wilhelmsen Prize Winner for Outstanding Achievement in Surgery. Dr. Sung completed her Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center and finished her fellowship in Hand, Microvascular, and Upper Extremity Surgery at Brown University. She is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery. Dr. Sung is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Orthopaedic Society, and is a member of the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand, New England Hand Society, and New England Orthopaedic Society. Prior to joining Boston Orthopaedics and Spine, Dr. Sung was Chief of Hand Surgery at Norwood Hospital. She has been named Best of Boston in Hand Surgery for 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, Exceptional Women in Medicine in 2019-2021, and a Castle Connolly Top Doctor- 5 years.

John J. Tierney
