The Student Affairs Dyad chairs the Wellness Roundtable to help facilitate communication and collaboration between Wellness representatives across the Canadian medical schools. Within his role, the Student Affairs Dyad also oversees the CFMS Leadership Awards and contributes to the ongoing initiatives within the student affairs portfolio. They work closely with the National Wellness Committee to improve and promote student wellness projects including the annual National Wellness Challenge.

The Director of Education is responsible for supporting initiatives related to learning and training in undergraduate medical education, and is especially committed to working towards anti-oppressive medical education for equitable health and care. Considering the breadth of topics concerning medical education, this portfolio has traditionally involved overseeing curriculum initiatives with the Education Committee, advocacy at a national level with the National Officers, and understanding the unique experiences at individual medical schools with representatives from each school on the Academic Roundtable. The Director of Education, and other members of the Education Committee also represent medical students to many external organizations. As this role continues to evolve and given the recent impact of the pandemic, they will also be supporting learner-led advocacy on changes faced by medical students at various stages of their undergraduate education.
The Director of Government Affairs addresses the organization's commitment to representation through political advocacy initiatives at a local and national level. They serve as the chair of the Government Affairs & Advocacy Committee (GAAC), organize the CFMS Federal Lobby Day, coordinate position papers, and represent the CFMS on all issues of a political nature.

As the National Officer of Wellness, Elizabeth chairs the National Wellness Committee that is composed of leaders of the various medical student well-being initiatives at the CFMS. She guides the direction of the Committee in their goals for the year including building pathways that will lead to greater accountability for CFMS recommendations at each medical school UGME. She oversees several of these initiatives including Longitudinal Wellness Initiative, National Wellness Challenge, Perspectives in Medicine and CFMS Connects.

The President is responsible for the general supervision and direction of the business of the CFMS. Overall goal-setting and vision fall under the President's responsibilities. The President also serves as the spokesperson for the organization to the public, the media, the government, and national medical organizations.
The Past-President advises the President and the Board through their role as Board Chair. Additionally, they are the Governance Committee Chair and serve as Chief Returning Officer and Parliamentarian, actively involved with elections conducted at AGM and SGM. They also serve as the student representative on the Canadian Medical Association board.
The Director of Student Affairs is responsible for overseeing the CFMS Student Wellness portfolio, the CFMS Leadership Awards and for coordinating the CFMS member benefits and services. This position requires collaboration with the National Wellness Officer, Wellness Representatives, and various external partners to promote wellness and resilience. The Director of Student Affairs advocates for and supports members through the development of resources, including the launch of the Longitudinal Wellness Strategy and the STRIVE Resiliency course to promote wellness of medical students across the country.
The Director of Global Health is responsible for overseeing global health projects that develop at a national level via National Officers (NOs), supporting projects at the local level via Global Health Liaisons (GHLs), and overseeing the 100+ nationwide network of GHLs and local officers at each CFMS medical school. In addition, they serve as President of the Canadian delegation to the International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA) meetings and represent the CFMS to external persons and organizations such as IFMSA and Association of Faculties of Medicine (AFMC) Global Health Network. The National Officers and committees that the Director of Global Health directly oversees are focused on public health, reproductive and sexual health, human rights and peace, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), international exchanges, global health education, and partnerships.
As the National Officer of Services , Jon is responsible for the CFMS Corporate Partnerships and Member Discounts, as well as the Electives and Interview Databases. Jon's main goal during his term is to explore partnerships with new industries to broaden and expand the Member Discount program. As well, he is dedicated to improving the CFMS databases so that it can easily be accessed by the Members for their use to benefit from them.

Mujtaba guides the overall fiscal management of the CFMS, and acts as the Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for managing the CFMS bank accounts, investments, expenses, revenue, and payroll. He is also actively involved in broadening the financial resource base of the CFMS by seeking alternative sources of revenue through grants, advertising, donations and sponsorship. A large part of his role involves working with our sponsors and navigating these important relationships.
