The story of Corporate Value Metrics begins during the 2008 recession. My turnaround advisory partners and I received a flood of "assessment" engagements from the workout groups of big banks. The workout groups were inundated with companies, and we were asked to triage the influx... Our mandate was to spend weeks in the field interviewing management, assessing the company and, ultimately, delivering a report to the bank with our conclusions. These assessments were time-consuming to complete because our firm did not have a standardized approach. Our focus became writing reports instead of working to solve problems for the impacted companies. We needed a system that would enable us to provide services faster and give meaningful, actionable recommendations for each company.
