Venugopal has been working with the city government in Chennai providing technical assistance for various complete streets projects through his role at ITDP. He has been involved in the conceptualization of new projects, design reviews, and on-ground project monitoring. He is currently working on expanding the street transformation works across the city through the Chennai Mega Streets Project. He is also actively involved in strategizing capacity development initiatives for city officials, engineers, and other stakeholders. With a keen interest in research, he is also involved in policy and planning research for transforming urban mobility to nurture early childhood development in Pune. His other areas of interest lie in travel demand management and inclusive compact cities.
Before joining ITDP, he worked with L&T Construction in Chennai as a Senior Architect. He holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning & Policy Design from Politecnico di Milano in Italy and an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the National Institute for Technology, Calicut. He has always been passionate about listening to stories of people, spaces and cities; how they evolve through time and the different forces that shape it. His love for cycling and travelling has pushed him to document the experiences through short stories, travel videos and illustrations. Still a kid at heart, he loves spending his evenings playing board games and he treasures a good collection of toys which he keeps close always to add to his collection of toy photography.

Rane is an Architect and Transport Planner with over eight years of experience in Public Transport Planning, Electric Mobility, and Transport Infrastructure. His expertise spans public transit improvement, station design, metro and BRT planning, fleet electrification strategies, and comprehensive mobility plans, helping cities transition toward sustainable and efficient transport solutions.
As a Senior Associate at ITDP India, he plays a crucial role in supporting public transit agencies and private bus operators at local, state, and national levels in their electrification efforts. His work includes route planning, cost-benefit analysis, financial assessment, and business model development, guiding agencies toward scalable and economically viable e-bus adoption.
Aditya provides strategic knowledge support to key stakeholders, including public transit agencies and their apex body, the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), as well as the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI). Together, these entities represent over 2 million buses, collectively transporting 32 million passengers daily. His contributions drive policy development and implementation, shaping India's evolving e-mobility landscape.

Aida Bayou (she/her/hers pronouns) joined ITDP in 2019. In her role, she manages accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and other accounting functions. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BA in Accounting and her MBA from University of Phoenix. She loves outdoor activities and spending time with her family.

Alberto studied International Relations and has worked doing academic research, government institutions, and producing music concerts and film festivals. As an avid urban and road cyclist he reached ITDP in 2019 to collaborate as an intern on the Global Communications area expanding on his project management experience and his interest in environmental, social, and cultural initiatives that positively transform and impact their communities. Nowadays, he is Global Publications Manager and is responsible for the the production of the different knowledge products ITDP develops.
Alejandro holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's degree in Urban Governance from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris - Sciences Po, with complementary studies in transportation planning from the University of California Los Angeles. He currently holds the position of Public Policy Analyst at ITDP Mexico. His work focuses on the analysis of policies, regulatory and governance frameworks in the field of urban development, sustainable mobility and road safety. Previously, he has collaborated in various international consulting projects in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa, standing out for his specialized approach to issues of urbanization, citizen participation and coordination of land and mobility policies.

Aline Leite holds a Master's degree in Transport Engineering and a Postgraduate Certificate in urban engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a Postgraduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Salzburg, Austria, and a Geographer from the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). She works at ITDP Brazil as Public Transport Coordinator.
A PhD candidate in Transport Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Aline's research is making significant strides. Her thesis, which aims to understand the perception of accessibility in an urban context, has been recognized by the prestigious Organization of American States (OAS). In 2023, Aline was also selected by the ELAP (Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program), an international scholarship program of the Government of Canada, where she completed a four-month study period at the University of Toronto (UofT).
Before joining ITDP, Aline was a key researcher in Urban Mobility at IDEC (Institute for Consumer Protection). She was one of the contributors to the SUM (Unified Mobility System) text and has extensive experience in projects to improve the public bus transport system (BRS - Bus Rapid Service and BRT - Bus Rapid Transit). Her expertise has been instrumental in planning transport operations for special events such as New Year's Eve, the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Rock in Rio 2015 and 2017, and the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Born in Manaus, Amazonas (north of Brazil), Aline is passionate about exploring new places, cultures, and foods. In addition to being a pet lover, Aline is fascinated by collecting public transport cards.

Alphonse (he/him/his) is a Global Communications Manager with ITDP's headquarters in New York City. He is responsible for communications strategy, content creation, project management, and media relations, working alongside ITDP's international program teams to promote the organization's work to a wide array of audiences. Prior to joining ITDP in 2022, Alphonse worked with cross-sector nonprofits and NGOs in marketing, PR, fundraising, and partnership development capacities. He holds an MSc in Urbanisation and Development from the London School of Economics and a BA in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Alphonse is a native of Philadelphia and enjoys running, cycling, reading, and exploring new neighborhoods in his free time.

Alyssa Alvarez (she/her/hers) started with ITDP in October 2022. As the Senior Program Coordinator for the Global team, Alyssa supports the efforts of leading advocates and experts worldwide by coordinating with external stakeholders, managing program administration, and working closely on signature ITDP initiatives.
Alyssa earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Urban Studies from Pace University in New York. Before ITDP, she interned for local and international non-profits and city governments in community advocacy and program management teams, always looking to uplift the community in her work. Alyssa actively worked on policy and advocacy in her past internships with the Asian American Federation and TransitCenter, both based in New York City. As a past President of her university's Filipino cultural club, Filipino Youth International, she deepened her passion for community-led service by developing and providing resources, programs, and events in collaboration with marginalized groups.
In her downtime, you can find Alyssa trying out new hobbies, most recently having been making oat milk and baking. She also enjoys nurturing her dog and cat, Akira and Nami, and plant babies.
Ana Nassar holds a master's degree in Political Science from the University of Brasilia and a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. She works at ITDP Brazil as Program Director.
In ITDP Brazil she oversees project management and strategic planning. Before joining ITDP, Ana served as the Environmental Manager for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, leading the implementation of environmental projects for the tournament. She has also worked for the British Embassy in Brazil, the Brazilian Ministry of Strategic Affairs, and the Museum of the Person.
With over 15 years of experience in sustainable development, Ana has managed projects across diverse areas, including climate change, urban mobility, waste management, sustainable procurement, and community development.

Urbanist by the Architecture Faculty of National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), he spent a semester abroad at University of Guadalajara. César joined ITDP Mexico in 2012 at public transport area, where has participated in projects for mexican cities, mainly related to mobility plans, transport systems modeling and proposals, and evaluation for infrastructure, operation and design of BRT systems through the BRT Standard; he also has collaborated in car use reduction and active mobility projects. In early 2016 he joined Centro Mario Molina as mobility and urban development specialist. In late 2017 he joined back ITDP as responsible for public transport program in Mexico.

Juan Melo is a postgraduate student in Digital Journalism and Communication at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) and holds a degree in Journalism from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). He works at ITDP Brazil as Communications Coordinator.

Parin is an Urban Development Associate for the ITDP India Programme. A flaneur, he believes that the best way to experience a place is walking on its streets and traveling through public transport. He believes that a good and safe walking environment is the birth right of every individual and cities that prioritise pedestrians in their urban planning, design, and policy making are most liveable and progressive. His key area of work at the India Programme includes aiding government officials implement high-quality walking and cycling infrastructure in urban areas. Parin has been working in close collaboration with the Indian Roads Congress for over two years, primarily working on developing national-level guidelines for non-motorised transport design and implementation. Before joining ITDP, he worked as an architect and urban designer on a variety of institutional, housing, public building, and street design projects. He enjoys marathon running and everything that makes him stay healthy and happy. He has studied architecture from Rachana Sansad's Academy of Architecture, Mumbai and further pursued urban design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
