Our country's Veterans fought for their country. Now, Angie Thompson, a Disability Benefits Attorney with the Jan Dils Law Firm, believes it is her turn to fight for them. A member of the Jan Dils legal team since 2009, Angie Lowe helps Veterans obtain disability benefits, providing sound legal advice, skilled representation and, often, some needed encouragement.
"What amazes me is how complex and complicated the Veterans' Administration claims process can be, and that can be frustrating for veterans, who have done so much for their country and now have to fight tooth-and-nail to get the benefits they rightfully deserve," Angie said.
Angie is a Pittsburgh native - and a diehard Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan - who received her undergraduate degree in political science from Westminster College. Angie attended law school at the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, where she completed an internship with the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. She graduated in 2008.

Chelsea has worked in the realm of Social Security Disability law since 2010. Having previously worked for a disability firm as well as owning her own disability practice for several years, Chelsea brings a wealth of experience to the team.
"I have devoted all of my time as an attorney to representing people who are attempting to obtain Social Security Disability benefits. I use my experience to help my clients navigate the process of filing for and obtaining disability benefits."
Chelsea has successfully represented thousands of clients in hearings before the Social Security Administration, and successfully recovered millions of dollars in backpay for her clients.

Eric Hillyard-Poling was born and raised in West Virginia. He has many degrees and certifications, including a bachelor's degree in Accounting, a Master of Healthcare Administration, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management. Eric started his career with the firm in 2011 as a Social Security Case Manager. From there, he went from Staff Accountant to Accounting & HR Manager to Accounting, IT, and Project Manager and now Chief Information Officer.
As Chief Information Officer, Eric is over the IT Department, Salesforce Team, Accounting Department, Marketing Department, Personal Injury Team, and all firm-wide projects. As CIO, he gets to work in and with all areas of the firm, both administrative departments and line-of-business specific department leads and team members. He appreciates that the firm puts our clients first in everything we do and that we strive to be better for our clients through continuous improvement every day. When he's not devoting his time to the firm, he is spending time with his daughter, playing the piano, traveling, and boating.

Heather graduated from Hobart William Smith colleges (Geneva, New York) in 1999 with a double major in political science and environmental studies. She then attended Roger Williams University School of Law and graduated in 2002. Upon graduation from law school, Heather moved to Washington D.C. and was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. Not long after that, Heather moved home to West Virginia and practiced law for over four years with the not-for-profit firm Mountain State Justice.
There she focused on helping low income families with consumer protection issues. Heather joined the Jan Dils team in the summer of 2007 and is now focusing on Social Security and Veterans benefits. Heather is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR).

Joining Jan Dils Attorneys at Law in 2019, John Weber credits his mother's involvement in a personal injury case that led to his decision to become a lawyer. John receives great joy in helping his clients in a meaningful manner and excels at getting to know his clients on a personal level. When asked about his favorite part of working with the firm, he said it's the family atmosphere that brings the entire team together for the betterment of the client.
John graduated with his undergraduate degree in History from Colgate University in 2016 where he was also a member of the football team. John would then go onto West Virginia University College of Law to receive his JD Degree.
Before joining the firm, he spent time as a Law Clerk before taking on a Student Attorney role at WVU.

Kelly has a wealth of experience with an extensive civil litigation background. She has prepared hundreds of cases for trial, taking over 50 cases to verdict. She focuses her practice on trial work, including personal injury, product liability, and mass and toxic tort litigation. Kelly provides legal services to clients throughout West Virginia and Ohio, in both state and federal courts.
Kelly is a Parkersburg, West Virginia, native and has strong ties and active commitments to the community. She graduated from Cleveland State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a minor in Spanish. Kelly went on to graduate from Capital Law School in 1996. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Product Liability as well as Mass Tort/Class Action Litigation. Following a vehicle accident while in high school that took the life of her best friend, Kelly knew she wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to help injured victims.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, vacationing at the beach and cheering her kids on at their various sporting events.

From his former position as a disability adjudicator for DDS, Social Security attorney Kevin Walker brings valuable knowledge of the disability process to his current role with the Jan Dils team. He understands what his clients are going through as they fight to obtain their benefits, and helps each person he works with by taking the time to fully explain each step. Kevin cites the positive working atmosphere and his co-workers' genuine desire to help others as the thing he enjoys most about his new team.
Before embarking on his career, Kevin earned is BA in history from Asbury University in 2004 where he graduated cum laude. He then went on to earn a Commonwealth Scholarship and receive his JD from Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2011. When he's not busy helping his clients succeed in obtaining their benefits, Kevin enjoys watching sports and spending time with his wife, Janelle, their son Jackson, and daughter Lily-Rose.

Attorney Miles Cary has built an incredibly successful career on helping others. But his dedication to the members of our community does not stop when he leaves the office. In fact, he's often just getting started.
Raised on Charleston, West Virginia's West Side, Miles graduated from Capital High School in 1997. He went on to attend West Virginia State University, where he was elected Freshman Class President, Sophomore Class President, Mr. West Virginia State and Student Body President. He was also awarded the National Outstanding College Brother of the Year from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. After graduating from WVSU summa cum laude, he received his JD from West Virginia University College of Law, where he was president of the Student Bar Association.
After graduation, Miles worked extensively in the fields of Social Security and Veterans benefits law, and proudly served his country for four years, as Platoon Leader- 19th AG Company, Seoul, South Korea; and then as Staff Officer -82D Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Currently involved with numerous service organizations that reduce crime, prison recidivism and school truancy in West Virginia, Miles is also the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central West Virginia. He is a volunteer at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club in Charleston, and part of the West Side Neighborhood Association. He has served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of West Side Main Street Project, an organization that focuses on the economic development and the revitalization of the West Side of Charleston, where he grew up. He is also a steering committee member of the Charleston Drug Market Intervention Project.

Although courtroom experience in West Virginia and Ohio prepared him to embark on his career as a VA Disability attorney, Patrick Stealey was happy to trade in the courtroom for the VA hearing room.
As a VA attorney and member of the Jan Dils team in Parkersburg, Patrick has found the perfect home to pursue his passion for working with Veterans to get them the benefits they have earned through their service to their country.
Patrick also has two family members who served in the military. His aunt is a United States Air Force Veteran, and his grandfather served in the United States Marine Corps. Drawing on his professional and personal backgrounds, Patrick strives to lessen the burdens of the VA compensation system through collaboration, communication; and compassion.
Born and raised in the Mid-Ohio Valley, Patrick received his BA from Ohio University, where he graduated magna cum laude before going on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the WVU School of Law. While at WVU, he served as President of the West Virginia Association for Justice, Student Chapter. He has been admitted to practice in the states of Ohio and West Virginia, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern Districts of West Virginia and Ohio. After his academic career, Patrick returned to serve the people of the community he always called home.
Outside of the office, Patrick enjoys spending his time golfing, bowling, skeet shooting, cooking, and playing guitar and drums. We are excited to have Patrick on our team!

A 2006 graduate of Northwestern University where he received his bachelor's degree before completing his J.D at Albany Law School in 2011. With nearly a decade of experience in the legal field, Paul brings a passion for assisting those who have served our nation. Paul's brother is a United States Air Force veteran.
Interestingly enough, Paul is fluent in the French language and truly enjoys legal research and writing. In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles, traveling, CrossFit and spending time with his two-year-old son. We're excited to welcome Paul to the team and can't wait to see the impact he leaves on our veteran's lives.
