Northern Illinois Hydropower LLC (NIH) is an alternative energy developer. Currently, we are preparing to license both the Brandon Road Hydroelectric Project, (FERC Project No. 12717) located on the Illinois Waterway in Will County, Illinois, and Dresden Island Hydroelectric Project, (FERC Project No. 12626) located on the Illinois Waterway in Grundy County, Illinois. Licensing is a multi-year, mandatory federal process governed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The FERC license will determine operations and guide the management of the projects and the resources potentially affected by the project's operations for the next 30 to 50 years. This website provides public information regarding the licensing of these two hydroelectric projects including information related to upcoming licensing activities as well as archiving information pertaining to the licensing process.
