Alan is a graduate from Virginia Tech with a degree in education. He also just completed his training to become a commissioned lay pastor. His civic involvement includes serving as the secretary of the French and Indian War Foundation. He is the past president and treasurer of the Association of Operations Management (APICS). He also served as the secretary for the James Wood Athlete Association. He and his wife, Becky, have three children and two granddaughters.

Carol graduated from James Wood High School. With over 20 years of office management experience, she serves as secretary of the Shenandoah Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). She is a member and youth leader at the Wesleyan Fellowship Church and also performs in the choir. Carol and her husband, Michael, have two "four-legged" children - Solomon, a 4-year-old cocker spaniel and Mia, a 2-year-old dachshund mix that was rescued.

Meet Omps Funeral Home: Vice President and Co-Chair David A. Zimmerman joined Omps in 2009 as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. In 2014 he was promoted to general manager, and two years later became a partner. David manages our day-to-day operations, along with making funeral arrangements and directing funerals. He is a graduate of Ridgeview Christian School and Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service and currently lives in Stephens City with his wife, Veronica, and their three children, Sterling, Landon, and Sophia. David is a member of the Winchester Church of God and enjoys helping with his children's sports teams.
Frank graduated from James Wood High School in 1966. He has been a member of the Omps family for over three years. His position allows him to help provide the families with a caring and home-like atmosphere.

Jason Messick is a Funeral Service Licensee who joined the Omps team in early 2019. A native of Winchester, Jason graduated from James Wood High School in 1997. He went to Virginia Tech and earned a degree in horticulture with a concentration in landscape contracting. Jason and his wife, Mandy, have two sons, Braiden and Adrian. In his spare time, you can find Jason spending time outdoors - he loves walking through the woods and hiking. He also enjoys riding on four-wheelers with his sons and goes hunting whenever he gets a chance. Jason is a big fan of the Washington Capitals and attends several games a year with his family.

Kandis Jenkins has worked at Omps for almost a decade. Omps's licensed staff relies heavily on her ability to pay attention to virtually every detail. Kandis's expertise is in day-to-day operations. She is a graduate of Kubasaki High School, in Okinawa, Japan, and attended Lord Fairfax Community College.

President Larry Omps is more than just a funeral home owner. He also served for eight years as mayor of Winchester. While mayor, Larry developed sister city relationships with Winchester, England, and Ambato, Ecuador. Larry has also served as a member of the Winchester City Council, on public safety and public works committees, on the City Finance Committee, as a member of the Regional Jail Board, and as chairman of the Regional Juvenile Detention Center for the Winchester area. A graduate of the Staunton Military Academy, Larry served in Vietnam as a Navy hospital corpsman. Larry is an alumnus of John Tyler Community College and was president of the Independent Funeral Homes of Virginia.

Nancy graduated from Shenandoah College with her associate degree in secretarial science and a minor in accounting. She has been actively involved with the funeral service industry for over 37 years, working side by side with her husband, Larry. Nancy enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children and three grandchildren as well as cooking, reading, and quilting.

Steve graduated from John Handley High School. He has been a member of the Omps family for eight years.

Sue moved to Winchester from Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she worked for 7 years in the funeral industry, before joining the Omps family. She spends her free time with her family, especially her three grandchildren, Charlotte, Tucker and Luca.
