Alex Kalof

Alex performs operational accounting responsibilities and supports the audit, tax and quarterly valuation processes. Prior to Origami, he was a senior accountant in the Financial Services Office tax practice at Ernst & Young LLP, where he provided tax compliance services to various clients in the wealth and asset management industry. Alex holds a BS and MS in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant in Wisconsin.

Amanda Pendleton

Amanda helps support the partners and staff of Origami with all operational and administrative tasks relating to the firm. Prior to Origami, Amanda worked as an Executive Assistant in the manufacturing, legal and real-estate sectors. Amanda holds a BS in Business Administration from Indiana University and a BS/MS in Communicative Disorders from Eastern New Mexico University.

Ashley Wabik

Prior to Origami, she was a senior associate in the State and Local Tax Practice at KPMG LLP, where she provided tax compliance and consulting services to various clients in the asset management industry. Ashley holds a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign. She is a registered Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.

Fernanda Banchs

Prior to Origami, Fernanda worked in fund administration at Cortland (part of Alter Domus Group), where she managed the fund close process, provided technical accounting advice and managed client relationships for real estate and private equity funds. She started her career at HFR Asset Management, where she supported record keeping and reporting of various hedge funds and fund of funds. Fernanda holds a BS in Accounting, Certificate of Advanced Accountancy and minor in Finance from Purdue University.

Jeff Young - CEO

Since 2009, Jeff has contributed to Origami's growth by focusing on complex transactions, capital allocation and fundraising. Today Jeff leads the firm. He serves on the Investment Committee and Management Committee and is responsible for Origami's overall direction and strategy. Prior to Origami, Jeff founded Young & Associates, a consulting firm that provided infrastructure development services to AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Nextel, PCS, PrimeCo and MetroPCS, among other wireless carriers. He sold the 80-person company in January 2001 to O2 Wireless Solutions (NASDAQ: OTWO). Subsequent to selling his company, Jeff used his real estate expertise to make investments in distressed real estate. He sold all of his property early in the second quarter of 2007. Jeff holds a BA in Political Science and History from the University of California, Berkeley and JD from the Santa Clara University School of Law. Jeff is admitted to practice in California and Nevada.

Jess Foster

Prior to Origami, he was an Associate at Marlin Equity Partners, where he focused on software investing. Jess started his career as a technology investment banking analyst at UBS. Joelle Kellam - CCO, CFO

Joelle leads all aspects of financial operations for Origami including accounting, compliance, audit and regulatory activities. She serves on the Investment Committee and Management Committee. Prior to Origami, she was Director of Financial and Production Planning at Dyson, a privately held vacuum manufacturer. Joelle's experience also includes financial analyst and accountant roles at Merisant, Bimba Manufacturing Company and Ernst & Young LLP. Joelle holds a BBA in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and MBA from The Kellogg School of Management. She is a registered Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.

Julie Klaff

Julie joined Origami in 2014 and focuses on analyzing, structuring and executing complex transactions for Origami. Julie's responsibilities include fund management, investment prospect and relationship generation, deal execution and capital raising. She serves on the Investment Committee and Management Committee. Prior to Origami, Julie practiced in the private funds group at Sidley Austin LLP where she focused on advising clients in the structuring, operations and investments of private equity funds, hedge funds and funds of funds. Julie holds a BS in Human Development from Cornell University and JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to practice in Illinois.

Matthew Miller - Managing Director

Matthew focuses on evaluating and executing private equity, credit and distressed investments for Origami. Prior to Origami, he was a Vice President at Lone Star Funds, a private equity firm focused on distressed assets with aggregate capital commitments totaling $60 billion at such time. At Lone Star, he identified, evaluated and executed corporate acquisitions and special situation investment opportunities throughout the Americas. Matthew was also previously an associate in Siguler Guff & Co.'s emerging markets investment team, targeting both fund commitments and direct co-investments in Brazil, India and various frontier markets. Matthew holds a BS in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Babson College.

Michael Kmiec

Prior to Origami, he was an Associate at Ares Management Corporation, a $360 billion alternative asset manager. Michael began his career as an investment banking analyst in the Leveraged Finance group at J.P. Morgan. Michael holds a BA in Finance from Michigan State University.

Michelle Doheny

Michelle oversees the day-to-day execution of accounting, valuation, finance, tax, reporting and treasury related activities for all Origami funds. Previously, Michelle was a Financial Controller at Hightower Advisors, where she was responsible for all firm revenue-management activities as well as all accounting, finance and integration of newly acquired businesses. Prior to Hightower Advisors, she held various positions at Barclays Investment Bank as part of the Americas region wealth and investment management division. Michelle started her career at KPMG working in both the New York and Chicago offices. Michelle holds a BS in Accountancy and MS in Accounting Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign. Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.

Sam Eduljee

In this capacity, Sarah is responsible for asset management through the life of the investment, as well as creating and maintaining external-facing market relationships. Prior to Origami, Sarah was an investment professional at Advantage Capital, a $1.5 billion fund investing both debt and equity capital in traditionally underserved markets. Sarah holds a BA in Economics, cum laude, from The University of Chicago and MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Prior to Origami, Tom was a Vice President in Silicon Valley Bank's Technology Banking division in Chicago and a Private Banker at J.P. Morgan. Tom holds a BA in Economics and Psychology from The University of Chicago and MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.

Truls Porter

Truls focuses on business development at Origami and is responsible for identifying and evaluating Origami's investment opportunities. As part of his efforts, Truls works with fund managers, investment bankers, lenders and restructuring professionals to identify transactions where Origami can add value. Prior to Origami, Truls was a Vice President at Wells Fargo Capital Finance, where he focused on sourcing, evaluating and executing corporate loans across a variety of business units, including asset-based, technology / SaaS finance, lender finance and healthcare finance. Truls was also previously a Relationship Manager with Wells Fargo's Commercial Banking Group, where he focused on sourcing, underwriting and managing a book of mid-market corporate loans. Truls holds a BS, magna cum laude, in Business Administration from Babson College.
