Alan Z. Gurvey - CEO

Mr. Gurvey is the managing partner of the Law Firm of Rowen, Gurvey & Win. He joined the firm in 1992. He is a graduate of Brown University with an Honors Degree in Ethics and Political Philosophy. Mr. Gurvey received his law degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, his hometown. He also attended the renowned American Academy of Dramatic Arts and was a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship. Upon graduation from Brown, Mr. Gurvey became an advertising account executive with the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency in Chicago and Toronto. After attending acting school, he worked for Princess Cruises as an entertainer and disc jockey. Mr. Gurvey's first job in the legal arena was at the NBC Legal Department in Burbank, California, focusing on entertainment, media, intellectual property, and corporate law. Soon thereafter, Mr. Gurvey started his own production company geared toward the development of fact-based drama television programming and children's television shows and videos. As a respected litigator in workers' compensation, Mr. Gurvey has been a featured panelist at California Applicants' Attorneys Association conventions on numerous occasions, as well as at the California State Bar Workers' Compensation Section conferences and the California Workers' Compensation Defense Attorneys Association. He has also been a speaker for the Ventura County Sheriff's Association, and other labor associations and unions. He has been an instructor for the Workers' Compensation Section of the California State Bar "Boot Camp", a facilitator for WorkCompCentral education seminars, a presenter for LexisNexis, TBI Med/Legal, Case Management Society of America, and a host of other organizations and associations. Mr. Gurvey is the host of Gurvey's Law on Talk Radio 790 KABC radio. He co-hosted the show with Kerri Kasem for several years, before welcoming well-known personalities as co- hosts in recent years. Gurvey's Law features in-depth interviews with many prominent attorneys, politicians, actors, directors, and media personalities. Mr. Gurvey was formerly the workers' compensation expert for KABC's legal programs. He is also an Honorary Board of Governors member for the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities and was appointed to the Brown University Club of Southern California Advisory Council, after having served two terms as the club's President. He is on the Board of Directors of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association and is Education Co-Chairperson for the organization, spearheading conventions and seminars throughout the state. Mr. Gurvey is a certified specialist in workers' compensation by the California Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California. Mr. Gurvey was honored by the California Applicants' Attorneys Association with the 2016 Harold W. Wax Outstanding Merit Award, and the WorkCompCentral Comp Laude Award for Applicant Attorney of the Year in 2014. He was also featured on the Cover of the Valley Lawyer, a publication of the San Fernando Bar Association in December 2014, and, more recently, has been featured on BeyondTV, Voyage LA, SHOUTOUT LA and Calabasas Style Magazine. The Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group has recognized Mr. Gurvey, "as one of the Nation's Top Injured Workers Attorneys". In 2017 and 2019, Mr. Gurvey was voted as one of the two finalists across the country for Applicant/Claimant Attorney of the Year by WorkCompCentral. He has been selected as a Super Lawyer from 2017 to the present. A featured article was written about Mr. Gurvey in the Super Lawyers magazine in 2017.

Anna Ulikhanian

Ms. Ulikhanian is a hearing representative with the Law Firm of Rowen, Gurvey & Win, with over a decade of experience in workers' compensation law. While she has represented both applicants and defendants, her focus and passion are in helping those who have had the misfortune of being injured on the job. In doing so, she makes certain that an injured worker is provided with both the necessary medical care and is appropriately compensated. To do so successfully, she stays up to date on the current laws governing the workers' compensation arena and participates in continuing education courses with emphasis on both the law and medicine Ms. Ulikhanian is also a speaker, educating physicians on the workers' compensation laws in the State of California and what is required of them in evaluating and treating injured workers. Ms. Ulikhanian's deep interest in the practice of law developed as a child, who dreamt of utilizing the law to protect those who had been wronged in one way or another. She partook in every class with emphasis in law and proceeded to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with emphasis in law, from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Ulikhanian is truly passionate about her work and takes pride in her zealous advocacy for RGW clients. She prides herself in establishing great working relationships with injured workers, which is helped by the fact that she is able to communicate with many in their native language. Ms. Ulikhanian is fluent in English, Spanish, Russian, and Armenian, and has previously lived in Russia and Armenia. When not fighting for the rights of injured workers, she likes to spend time with family and friends, travel, and discover new experiences, cultures, and cuisines.

Bernice Fong

Ms. Fong holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA and a teaching credential from UC Berkeley. She received her paralegal certificate from the Attorney Assistant Training Program at UCLA. She has worked in the workers' compensation field for over 20 years. She also has legal experience in subrogation, civil litigation, and family law. Ms. Fong is a five-time marathon runner. As a Team for Kids member, she has raised funds for low cost health and fitness programs that serve children in community centers across the country.

Brian Kramer

Mr. Kramer graduated with distinction from the University of Arizona in 1985, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a minor in Business. He then attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1988. During law school, Mr. Kramer was chosen for an externship as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice Earl Johnson, Jr. of the California Court of Appeal, Second District. He clerked for Justice Johnson during the summers of 1986 and 1987, working extensively on several published Appellate court decisions. Mr. Kramer joined the Law Firm of Rowen, Gurvey & Win in January 1991. Over his 30 plus years in workers' compensation law, Mr. Kramer has lectured extensively to injured workers informing them of their rights and benefits under the California workers' compensation system and federal Social Security Disability laws. He has also been a guest speaker at numerous professional seminars, where he has lectured to attorneys and physicians. Mr. Kramer's vast knowledge of the California workers' compensation laws allows him to excel in all phases of litigation of a workers' compensation claim, from the initial client intake through trial.

Ginger Volz

Ms. Volz is a Hearing Representative with over 29 years of experience in the California workers' compensation industry. She has worked for self-insured entities, insurance companies, lien claimants, and law firms, adjusting claims in seventeen states, including administering longshore and harbor workers' claims. She has conducted many training sessions in workers' compensation law at insurance companies and third-party administrators. Ms. Volz holds her WCCA (Workers' Compensation Claims Administration) Certification and has participated in many legal clinics, including her continued participation with the Asian Pacific Bar Association Legal Clinic. Herself, an injured worker, Ms. Volz, is driven by her passion for advocating on behalf of injured workers and ensuring they receive the best outcome. Ms. Volz is the proud mother of two children and has two rescue dogs. In her free time, Ms. Volz enjoys reading, baking, cooking, live concerts, and hosting movie nights.

Kenneth Rowen

Mr. Rowen was the founder of Law Firm of Kenneth H. Rowen. He graduated from the University of Illinois in only two years, then moved back to Los Angeles where he attended law school at the University of Southern California. While in law school, Mr. Rowen was President of the USC Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. After receiving his Juris Doctor degree from USC in 1965, Mr. Rowen worked as a workers' compensation defense attorney for 18 years, in addition to having a general civil litigation and trial practice. He then undertook representation of those who were injured on their jobs. Mr. Rowen represented injured workers since 1983. In addition to litigating workers' compensation cases, Mr. Rowen represented clients in Social Security Disability cases before the administrative law judges of the Social Security Administration, as well as clients pursuing disability retirement cases before such administrative agencies as the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), and Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA). Mr. Rowen became one of the first attorneys in the State of California to be certified, by the State Bar of California, as a specialist in workers' compensation law. Mr. Rowen is a past president of the Los Angeles Valley Applicant's Attorneys Association (LAVAAA) and was on the Board of Governors of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association (CAAA). Mr. Rowen's forty plus years of legal experience in the workers' compensation field made him one of the most well-respected workers' compensation attorneys in the State of California The legacy of Kenneth Rowen continues with strong representation for the injured worker, based on the principles and strategies that he established over his brilliant legal career.

Michael J. Win

Mr. Win is a partner at the Law Firm of Rowen, Gurvey & Win. He joined the firm in 1991. As an experienced trial attorney, Mr. Win handles all phases of a litigated workers' compensation case. He is certified as a worker's compensation specialist by the California State Bar. Before joining the firm, Mr. Win was a clerk to then Judge Mark Kahn, formerly the Associate Chief Judge of the Division of Workers' Compensation Administration. In the past, Mr. Win litigated cases related to Social Security Disability and represented workers pursuing disability retirement benefits through such organizations as the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA). Mr. Win is a member of the California Applicants Attorneys Association, the lead association representing injured workers in the State of California. Mr. Win was also a nominee for a 2015 Comp Laude Award, presented by WorkCompCentral in recognition of integrity and excellence in the workers' compensation industry.

Roxana Soltani

Roxana Soltani is a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She joined the law firm of Rowen, Gurvey & Win in 2017 as a senior associate, advocating for the rights of injured workers. She has been a licensed attorney for over 24 years, 17 years of which she spent as a defense attorney in workers' compensation law, representing various employers and insurance companies nationwide. During her tenure as a defense attorney, she represented various global insurance and Fortune 1000 companies in the area of workers' compensation, as well as labor/employment law, including cases involving catastrophic injuries, asbestosis/Silicosis/chemical exposure, LC 132a and Serious & Willful claims, and uninsured employers. She has successfully taken many cases to trial with outstanding results, and negotiated large complex structured settlements. Roxana received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in French Literature. She spent about 10 years working as a social worker for various entities, including the Goodwill Industries Job Placement/Vocational Rehabilitation program, where she tirelessly advocated for the rights of military veterans and those displaced by the job market due to injuries, illnesses, and mass lay-offs. She also worked as a social worker for several shelters for runaway, abused, and neglected teenagers, and worked as a liaison with the Los Angeles Unified School District Special Education program, the Department of Probation, and the Department of Children Services, advocating for the rights of teens in placement due to abandonment, abuse, and neglect. Subsequently, Roxana worked in the area of public relations and marketing, representing some of the largest law firms, accounting firms, and real estate developers in the country. In that role, she assisted companies in developing a public profile and promote their line of business. Roxana was responsible for media relations, special events, and managing advertising campaigns on behalf of her clients. Thereafter, Roxana worked in the entertainment industry for several years, in the area of international movie acquisitions and licensing, while also attending law school. Upon graduation from law school, Roxana ran a solo law practice for three years, with a focus on family law. Roxana is currently serving as the President of Southern California Applicant Attorney's Association. She is a past board member of the Iranian-American Lawyers' Association. She is an avid tennis player and fan, and enjoys traveling the globe.
