Sawston Parish Council are working with Cambridge County Council in supporting the Plantlife No Mow May campaign. This means County Council will not be cutting any highway verges during the month of May and Sawston Parish Council will only be cutting the recreation grounds with play areas, other areas will be left until June... At the virtual meeting on Monday, our Communities Team updated on the Council's initial thinking on how we can continue to work with Parish Councils, COVID Community Groups and other people as restrictions begin to loosen... The feedback received during Monday's meeting showed that there was concern from parish councils that the authority to hold virtual Council meetings was being removed. Parish councils reported increased interest from members of the public in their activities and meetings, which they felt was a direct consequence of being able to ‘attend' remotely. They expressed regret that this permission is to be removed, which is shared by many councils..
