SkinMedical Research and Diagnostics was founded in 2009 by Dr. Melissa Gill, a board-certified Dermatopathologist and Anatomic Pathologist with a research fellowship in the genetics of cutaneous tumors, who has been working in the field of Reflectance Confocal Microscopy (RCM) since 2005. In 2008, Dr. Gill published alongside Co-Editors Drs. Salvador Gonzalez and Allan Halpern, the first textbook on Reflectance Confocal Microscopy: Reflectance Confocal Microscopy of Cutaneous Tumors: An Atlas with Clinical, Dermoscopic and Histological Correlations. Through her diagnostic and research work, Dr. Gill has developed broad experience in the field of RCM spanning cutaneous tumors, genetic disorders, inflammatory and infectious diseases, as well as basic science applications. Dr. Gill's research passion lays in pushing noninvasive cutaneous imaging tools, such as RCM and optical coherence tomography, to the level of non-invasive histopathology and developing the necessary quality control..
