Nichell Taylor, who has worked successfully in media for more than 30 years, is the founder and consultant team leader of SoulSource Communications. Before launching SoulSource in 2004 Ms. Taylor, for four years, was national manager of media relations at the New York City-based Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF), the world's largest charitable provider of funds for and advocate of diabetes research. As part of JDRF's award-winning public affairs team recognized by the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators, Ms. Taylor co-developed, oversaw and executed a wide array of media outreach initiatives designed to increase awareness worldwide about type 1 diabetes and paths toward a cure. More, recently, from 2016 to 2019, Ms. Taylor was senior manager, media relations, at the National Kidney Foundation headquarters in Manhattan, where, as at JDRF, she worked across the organization with the board, senior leadership, and field offices nationwide to help create, promote and implement a plethora of projects to increase awareness about kidney disease. Ms. Taylor - also a lifelong performing artist/singer of gospel, classical and contemporary music with two, sold-out Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall recitals - takes great pride in using her multiple, tranferrable professional skills to create and/or promote other projects and organizations close to her heart. These include, yet are not limited to, the Dr. Stanley L. Ralph Arts Academy (DSLRAA) on Long Island in New York, and the dynamically diverse and successful "Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord" concerts to benefit the DSLRAA. She also is often enlisted to use her musical gifts and skills to coach aspiring singers, help write or arrange songs, and direct/form choirs and ensembles.
