Adam S. Wilson

Dr. Adam Wilson is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon whose practice focuses on knee, shoulder and sports medicine injuries. He is fellowship-trained in both sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. Dr. Wilson specializes in ligament reconstruction, cartilage preservation, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder arthroplasty, mountain trauma and complex shoulder pathology. Late into his orthopaedic residency, Dr. Wilson met internationally renowned French professor Pascal Boileau, MD. He applied and was selected to train in Nice, France, with Dr. Boileau for three months. Upon the conclusion of his initial training, Dr. Wilson was invited to advance his training for the remainder of the year. Dr. Wilson credits his time with Dr. Boileau for his passion for shoulder specialty care. The innovations and practices he learned under Dr. Boileau are critical in how Dr. Wilson operates his practice. His focus for patients is to get them moving and back to their desired activities as quickly as possible. Maintaining a patient's lifestyle and quality of life is always his primary goal. Dr. Wilson joined the Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI) in 2018. He is a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Medical Pool, working with "weekend warriors'' and Olympic athletes. He is a Co-Orthopaedic Medical Director for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and travels nationally and internationally as a team physician with the U.S. Snowboardcross Team. Dr. Wilson attended medical school at Georgetown University and completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia. He completed a sports-medicine fellowship at Taos Orthopaedic Institute in Taos, New Mexico, and a complex shoulder-surgery fellowship at Insitut Universitaire Locomoteur et du Sport in Nice, France. Dr. Wilson practices out of both Steamboat and Winter Park (Fraser) SOSI locations. Dr. Wilson recently married his best friend Tatum, in Dec 2020. He is an avid skier and enjoys all outdoor activities including camping and fishing, as well as spending time walking and hiking with his dog on local trails and mountains.

Alexander K. Meininger

Dr. Meininger is an Official U.S. Ski Team Physician. He is a consulting physician for Velonews, US Pro Cycling Challenge, The Journal of Competitive Cycling, the Big Mountain Enduro series, Western Spirit Tours, and PRCA Rodeo.

Brian Siegel

Dr. Siegel joined Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI) in April 2017. "I am grateful to be able to spend plenty of time with each patient, learning about their condition and determining their diagnosis, educating them about their pain, and treating them the way they deserve to be treated. My mission is to relieve people's pain without pills so they can enjoy life to the fullest."

Darin W. Allred

Dr. Allred joined Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI) in 2020, after spending the first 15 years of his career in Denver, Colorado. "My goal in life is about how many people I can help and how many lives I can change, while having a good time doing it. It is really more about helping people and connecting with them, and feeling like I can make a difference."

Dr. Alejandro Miranda

Dr. Alejandro Miranda is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is fellowship-trained in both Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He specializes in cartilage restoration procedures, Achilles' tendon repair, ankle replacement surgery, upper and lower extremity fractures and sporting injuries affecting the foot, ankle, and knee. He utilizes non-surgical techniques and conservative management when appropriate and as a line of first defense. As an athlete himself, Dr. Alejandro Miranda was drawn to orthopaedics because it allows him to help others while also practicing and progressing in a continuously evolving field of medicine. Dr. Miranda is humbled to serve as medical director for Steamboat Springs High School and Co-Orthopaedic Medical Director for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. He is in the medical pool for US Ski and Snowboard, and travels internationally as the team physician for the U.S. Snowboardcross Team. Dr. Miranda has also traveled as team physician with both US Men's and Women's National Soccer Teams, UCI World Cycling, Amgen Tour of California, PGA tours, and has served a medical appointment with FC Barcelona, Dr. Miranda joined Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI) in 2018. "In Sports Medicine, you learn how to manage the athlete by listening and paying attention to the athlete's needs. The patient should always be included within the decision of best treatment options." Dr. Miranda attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. He honed his subspecialty training by completing post-professional fellowships in both Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and in Sports Medicine at the world-renowned Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute. Dr. Miranda practices at SOSI locations in Steamboat Springs and Craig, Colorado. Growing up in an Argentinian household and being fluent in Spanish has well-positioned Dr. Miranda to take care of the international clientele that visit Steamboat. Dr. Miranda enjoys snowboarding and soccer, evidenced by the name of his dog "Messi." He embraces the philosophy "work hard, play hard" and "be the best you can be," which is also embraced by the Steamboat community.

Dr. Andreas M. Sauerbrey

Dr. Sauerbrey has been a member of the US Ski and Snowboard Medical Pool and has been traveling with the US Freestyle Ski Team since 2002. He was nominated and chosen as the US Freestyle Ski Team Head Orthopaedic Physician from 2007 until 2011, accompanying the team during the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, and the World Championships in Inawashiro, Japan in 2009 and in Deer Valley, Utah in 2011. Dr. Sauerbrey joined Orthopaedics of Steamboat in 2001. He is one of the founders and current president of Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI). "My intention is to bring state-of-the-art medicine to Steamboat in an efficient and affordable way. Together, we ensure the latest, most innovative technology available for both operative and non-operative procedures. We believe patients and their families should have the best care possible at all times."

Dr. Michael Sisk

Dr. Sisk has been a team physician for the Professional Rodeo Tour as well as traveled nationally and internationally with the US Ski and Snowboard Teams. As an Orthopaedic Surgeon in a ski town for more than 20 years, Dr. Sisk has had the opportunity to take care of many types of professional and recreational athletes. Dr. Sisk joined Orthopaedics of Steamboat in 1999. He is one of the founders and a partner of Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI). Having such a positive impact on a patient's life is something Dr. Sisk finds particularly appealing about orthopaedic surgery. His mission is to send his patients into the world to do the things they love, oftentimes at a higher level than they did before. "I treat every patient like they're a part of my family; the decisions I make, the advice I give."

Dr. Patrick Johnston

Dr. Patrick Johnston is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon whose practice focuses on providing comprehensive care for ailments from the fingertips to the elbow. He is fellowship-trained in hand, wrist, and elbow orthopaedic surgery and is additionally certified in hand surgery. He is one of the few surgeons in the region trained in endoscopic carpal tunnel releases, as well as WALANT surgery, which stands for "wide-awake local anesthesia, no tourniquet," performing a procedure using just local anesthesia which can often be done in the office. Dr. Johnston is the proud recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Award for Humanism and Excellence in the Teaching of Medicine. He has authored multiple publications and has guest-lectured around the country. He is an Orthopaedic Preceptor for the UC Health Family Medicine Residency and participates in educational programming with CU Hand Fellowship. Dr. Johnston moved to Steamboat in 2016 and is one of the founding partners of Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI). He was drawn toward hand surgery because it incorporates aspects of orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery and neurosurgery. Dr. Johnston feels this comprehensive training makes him a better surgeon overall. "Hand surgery is a unique specialty that allows me to work with patients from children to the elderly. The complexity of hands and their importance in people's lives keeps me motivated to continue to advance my knowledge. I enjoy getting each patient back to the activities he or she enjoys." Dr. Johnston completed both medical school and his residency at Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He then pursued additional training, completing a hand, elbow, and microvascular surgery fellowship through Grandview Hospital and Ohio University. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association of Hand Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as the Wilderness Medical Society. Dr. Johnston practices at SOSI locations in Steamboat Springs, Craig and Fraser, Colorado. He also provides outreach care in Alliance, Nebraska. As a previous junior elite-level triathlete, Dr. Johnston enjoys all forms of cycling. He lives in Steamboat Springs with his wife Ginger and their three children. He is also passionate about supporting the Yampa Valley Autism Program that provides support to people in the community, including his stepson Xavier.

Dr. Tyson Sloan

Dr. Tyson Sloan is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, also known as Physiatrist, with expertise in non-operative spine care. He specializes in spine imaging interpretation, clinical examination skills, interventional spine procedures (spinal injections), organizing and facilitating active rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG, nerve conduction). Dr. Sloan was drawn to PM&R because he hopes to provide conservative treatments for his patients to alleviate their pain and symptoms prior to considering surgery. His goal is to spend the time necessary to help patients fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options, and to help manage their symptoms. Dr. Sloan aspires to provide non-operative spine care for patients who do not require surgery and to refer patients for spine surgery when necessary. Dr. Sloan is new to the Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI); starting in Jan 2023. He came to SOSI after practicing for 6 years at Mountain View Orthopaedics in New Mexico. Dr. Sloan completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Cumberland Gap, TN. He completed an internship at Ohio University CORE program at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH, and a residency at Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation in Dallas, TX. Dr. Sloan is an outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and hunting, as well as sharing his adventures with his wife and children. He and his family enjoy being active and participating in a wide range of sporting activities. Dr. Sloan is also fluent in Spanish.

Dr. William (Bobby) Howarth

Dr. William (Bobby) Howarth is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a practice focusing on knee osteoarthritis, hip osteoarthritis and trauma. He performs nearly 1,000 surgeries annually. He has practiced in Colorado Springs since 2013. He is fellowship-trained in knee and hip reconstruction, and specializes in procedures for total/partial hip replacement and total/partial knee replacement. Dr. Howarth was the chief of the Colorado Springs Government Hospital System's Total Joint Replacement Initiative from 2015 to 2022. Lt. Col. William Howarth, MD has over 24 years of government service in the US Air Force, attending flight school and flying B-1 bombers prior to starting his medical training. While serving, he performed or supervised all military total hip and knee replacements in the Colorado Springs area and standardized care through Army and Air Force commands, optimizing patient care and outcomes. He believes in the importance of establishing a trustworthy patient-provider relationship. He dedicates himself to empowering each and every patient with the respect, knowledge and insights needed to guide the treatment plan to its best possible outcome. "I knew I had to pursue orthopaedics the first time I replaced an arthritic knee and saw the patient get back to enjoying an active lifestyle again." Dr. Howarth earned a medical degree at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and finished residency training in orthopaedic surgery at San Antonio Military Medical Consortium. He completed the Otto E Aufranc Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Howarth practices at SOSI locations in Steamboat Springs, Craig and Monument, Colorado. Dr. Howarth splits time between Steamboat Springs and Colorado Springs, where his wife and five daughters reside. When not treating patients, Dr. Howarth enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering for local outreach programs, and outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and cycling.

Jeannee "Jae" Sanders

Jeannee "Jae" Sanders, a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and team member of the SOSI Monument Clinic, works with Dr. William Howarth helping patients navigate and recover from joint replacement surgery, orthopaedic trauma and related issues including osteoporosis. She approaches each patient as an individual with their own story, which she feels lucky to be a small part of, and she finds it rewarding to see patients improve their livelihood due to better health and mobility.
