John Long

​John has a distinguished career in medicine, pharmacology and consulting to CMS and developers of new technology since being awarded a PhD in pharmacology by the University of Missouri in 1973. In addition, he holds an MD in family practice, also from University of Missouri and an MBA from Columbia. Most recently he was a Medical Director for the Disease Management division of McKesson Health Solutions responsible for high cost/high risk chronic condition enrollees, improvement of self-reliance, reduction of unnecessary utilization, clinical condition care plan compliance, adherence to national guidelines and improved clinical outcomes. At the CMS, he was a Medicare coverage strategist and pricer for all pharmaceuticals in the hospital outpatient (HOPPS) arena. He reviewed new drug applications for compliance with Medicare regulatory and statutory authorities, providing recommendations for beneficiary co-payment amounts, pass-through payments, hospital acquisition costs, APC bundling and Medicare payment rates. He is the creator of the "single drug pricing" system adopted and implemented by CMS for Medicare drug coverage and reimbursement nationwide.

John Proach

John is an experienced reimbursement specialist providing strategic planning and tactical implementation for pharmaceutical products, medical devices and diagnostics. He has 25 + years of experience in health care holding various positions in product marketing and management at companies such as Warner Lambert and the Hospital Satellite Network. At Pearson Professional he was the Executive Vice President for Churchill Communications and was instrumental in establishing Churchill Health Economics group. He has developed and implemented numerous global reimbursement strategies for pharmaceutical and medical device products including value strategy programs demonstrating economic value for inpatient technologies. He has petitioned Medicare for new technology add-on payments and sponsored applications for new procedure codes and created the Value Demonstrator concept for creating and validating value messages for negotiation support efforts. He holds a BS degree in education and an MS degree in business from New York University.

Jonathan Tierce

Kathryn Cromer

Kathryn is an experienced market access researcher and project director having worked with consultancy companies such as Quintiles Consulting and Market Access Solutions. She has managed numerous global pricing, market access and reimbursement projects for biopharmaceutical and medical device companies. Kathryn is a clinical coding specialist with 15 years of experience certified by AHIMA and has conducted inpatient and outpatient data analyses supporting evidence development and economic modeling strategies. She has conducted procedure coding assessments for companies validating provider and payer payment pathways. She holds a BA and MS degree in public policy from the University of Pennsylvania.​

Mark Altenburger

Mark has almost 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries with Pfizer, Pharmacia, Ethicon and Q-Med. At Pharmacia he held a number of key management positions including the position of global marketing director for the ophthalmic franchise launching several products in Europe and Japan. He was global director at Q-Med overseeing all development and marketing aspects increasing the value over $20M in 2 years. He is an experienced trainer adhering to the Kilpatrick method with years of experience as a sales trainer, a sales training manager, and eventually helped create, staff and initiate a training department. His experience includes conducting payer negotiations programs and workshops developing access tactics, objection handlers and creating best practice initiatives for US and EU affiliates. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing he has been involved in many diverse product introductions including; pain management, epilepsy and web based services for key physician associations. Most recently he held a key management and advisory position in several medical device startup companies. Mark holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration from Morhead State University.
