VICTOR DE LA TORRE

This is the starting point of a family saga… I was born in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, Mexico. My parents were Miguel de la Torre Valdez and Socorro Mercado Valades. They were both born in the state of Durango and started a family there. In the late 1950's they immigrated to Monterrey, Mexico. Here, Don Miguel worked in a paper factory and Doña Socorrito (later, Abuelita Coco) raised the family. Let's learn a little bit more about them…... As to my wife, Rosario, we met in 1978 at her sister Mona's quinceañera party. Her family came from the state of San Luis Potosí. Don Benjamin Rodriguez and la señora Francisca (Panchita) Oliva married there and many years later moved to Monterrey in search of a better life for their kids.
