Ann Haynes-Sutton

Ann Haynes-Sutton is a conservation ecologist who has spent her working life in Jamaica. She is the senior author of "A photographic guide to the birds of Jamaica" published by Princeton University in 2009, and has been leading bird and natural history tours in Jamaica and other islands for many years. She lives at Marshall's Pen, near Mandeville, in the centre of Jamaica - a 310 acre cattle property and private nature reserve that is one of Jamaica's premier birding destinations. Her interest in birds and natural history started when she was growing up in England, becoming a passion when she came to live in Jamaica. She studied Jamaican seabirds for her Ph.D. Professionally, she focuses on ecology, protected areas management and conservation, environmental education and exhibit design. Her other interests include bird banding. She is involved with several NGOs including BirdsCaribbean and Caribbean Coastal Area Management Foundation and is a past president of the Natural History Society of Jamaica. Bonnie Chartier

Bonnie Chartier was born and raised in Churchill, Manitoba. As the daughter of a trapper, she spent many hours on the land learning about the local flora and fauna and gaining an appreciation for the outdoors. Bonnie has been involved in Churchill's tourism industry since its inception and was instrumental in introducing the world to Churchill's Polar Bears, Belugas, birds, and natural history. The Manitoba Government recognized Bonnie for her entrepreneurship in the tourism industry with Manitoba Business Woman of the Year Award. Early on in her career, Bonnie discovered her passion is birding. She has since become well known and highly regarded in the birding world for her expertise. Some years ago, she teamed up with Dr. James A. Lane and co-wrote the first of three Lane Publications, "The Birds of Churchill" books in conjunction with the American Birding Association. She is also heavily involved in Manitoba's Bird Atlas program, putting in hundreds of volunteer hours and thousands of kilometers mapping birds of Manitoba. In her spare time, Bonnie travels the globe pursuing her interest finding rare birds to cross off her "most wanted" list and moving on to the next. Boris Wise

Boris Wise is a passionate naturalist, wilderness guide, and excellent photographer. He began his career guiding in Southeast Alaska, where he worked for 10 years before sailing on his first expedition cruise ship in 2010. The Coordinator for the Maryland Breeding Bird Atlas, Gabriel Foley grew up on a small farm in southeastern Ontario, where his curiosity cultivated an appreciation and wonder for nature. After receiving a diploma in fish and wildlife conservation from Sault College, he headed west to Saskatchewan to pursue undergraduate studies in Biology. Subsequently he completed graduate studies on the Common Nighthawk. He then spent a year studying sparrow-weavers in South Africa. Greg Hare

Greg Hare has lived in the Yukon for more than four decades, spending 30 years working as a field archaeologist with the Government of Yukon. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Katsu Sakuma had already established himself in the paddling business before moving to Canada with his family in 1999.
