Bellanico is a continuation of Chris Shepherd and Elizabeth Frumusa's successful restaurant in San Francisco, Aperto in Potrero Hill. Bellanico is a neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of the Glenview district in Oakland. The name Bellanico is derived from their daughters' nicknames, Bella and Nico. It was only fitting to name it after them, for they went through the ups and downs of the entire construction phase with Chris and Elizabeth... We serve rustic Italian cuisine with influences from all the bounty California has to offer. The menu changes seasonally and we are dedicated to serving the best seasonal, local, sustainable, and organic products available. We cure our own salumi, make all our pasta, and bread fresh daily...
