Brendan W. Donckers

Brendan Donckers is a partner at BJT. He litigates civil cases and appeals in state and federal courts with a focus on individual and class action consumer protection cases, employment litigation, and civil rights. He also represents individuals, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and small businesses in disputes involving real and personal property, contracts, public records, land use, nuisance, and torts. Brendan has argued appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Washington Supreme Court, the Washington Court of Appeals and was second-chair in a landmark FOIA case before the U.S. Supreme Court. He served on the Board of Trustees for the Northwest Justice Project from 2017 to 2023 and president of the board from 2019 to 2021. Brendan was a mayoral appointee to the Seattle Ethics and Election Commission from 2014 to 2021, a commission he chaired from 2018 to 2020, and a mayoral appointee to the Pioneer Square Preservation Board from 2017 to 2021. He provides regular and ongoing pro bono representation since starting his practice and regularly mentors law students and new lawyers.

Roger M. Townsend

Roger Townsend is a respected complex litigation attorney who has practiced in Seattle since 1995. Mr. Townsend has represented individuals and businesses in a wide variety of matters, including partnership, breach of contract, intellectual property, privacy rights, commercial disputes, professional malpractice, shareholder oppression, employment, non-compete, trade secret, and related matters. Mr. Townsend is frequently engaged as local counsel in federal and state courts. Roger Townsend is an experienced trial attorney who has practiced in Seattle since 1995. Townsend is a zealous advocate for his clients in federal and state court, as well as private arbitration and mediation. His practice focuses on representing individuals against companies, protecting and enforcing their rights in employment and business relationships. Townsend co-founded Breskin Johnson & Townsend PLLC in 2007. Townsend is active in public service. He is the Chair-Elect of the Ninth Circuityer Representatives Coordinating Committee and a Member of the Ninth Circuit's Conference Executive Committee. He is a past President of the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington and has been appointed by the Court as a representative of the Western District of Washington at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference and the Roadways to the Bench Program. Townsend served as a city councilmember, volunteers for a free civil rights legal clinic, co-founded a program introducing students to Constitutional principles, and regularly moderates and coordinates panels for continuing legal education and important issues in the legal profession to Judges and members of the Bar.
