CAMPOAMOR architects is a design-oriented firm based in the San Francisco Bay area. Founded in 1989, it is the result of a long-standing collaboration between Roberto and Halcyon Campoamor. We believe that architecture arises where there is a fruitful collaboration between client, architect and builder. We understand design not as a given solution but as a process of unfolding, a progressive realization of architectural form shaping light and space. We pay close attention to the specificity of climate, light, terrain, natural and man-made features, local materials and building techniques, blending tradition with the sparseness and clarity of Modernism, creating spaces that are sensuous and tranquil.
