Cole's relevant experience includes: Operational finance and strategy consulting for Intermountain Healthcare Developed and helped implement staffing grids, master schedules, and labor productivity dashboards across nursing floors, surgical services, and emergency departments Successfully managed the roll-out of a new electronic health record Coordinated a system-wide statistical reporting overhaul while maintaining budgetary integrity Researched and recommended investment in companies within industries ranging from pharmaceuticals to African agriculture to renewable energy Cole holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brigham Young University and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Utah. Mark Coughlin

Mark Coughlin is a Partner with Capital Healthcare Planning and is a seasoned, entrepreneurial health care executive with more than 29 years of industry experience. He has demonstrated success both as a consultant and in in-depth operational roles, providing him with a unique perspective and breadth of experience. Mark has expertise in strategic planning, physician alignment, preparing for healthcare reform, capital budgeting and planning, financial feasibility analysis, business planning, operational improvement, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), new business start-up, international business, operational oversight and profit and loss (P&L) responsibility. He has made significant contributions in a wide variety of corporate environments, including large consulting companies, hospital companies, international and domestic start-ups, and smaller privately held companies. Mark also has an extremely broad knowledge of the healthcare industry having worked for and advised community hospitals, multi-state health systems, academic medical centers, physician groups and payers. Prior to Capital Healthcare Planning, Mark was Senior Vice President with Hammes Company. He was a member of the firm's Management Board and oversaw the operations and strategic direction of the company. Mark was also the service line leader for the firm's Advisory Services practice. He was a key member of the team that organized and grew this practice by more than 20 percent and achieved top quartile ranking in Modern Healthcare's annual ranking of the largest consulting practices serving the healthcare industry. Prior to Hammes Company, Mark served as co-founder and COO for Anatole Health Network, a start-up international healthcare development firm. In this role, he gained significant experience in Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe. Mark's breadth of experience and extensive background has positioned him as a thought leader in the industry. He has made numerous presentations to regional and national organizations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Hospital Association's Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. These presentations were on a variety of topics including strategic planning, market planning, positioning for healthcare reform and physician alignment. Mark is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mark received his Bachelor of Science, International Affairs from Trinity University and his Masters of Business Administration from Angelo State University. Mark is active with the Boy Scouts of America and his local church. Mark enjoys camping and bicycling and spending time with his family.
